I'm not on myspace (i refuse dangit!) but I seriously read through that as fast as a normal paragraph, if not faster.
SPELL CHECK IS STILL IMPORTANT THOUGH!!! Especially for people who have a tendency to leave out letters or use the wrong ones.

OK, sure, I can read it, no problem. So I'll make you a deal.
I hereby give anyone reading this permission to spell words incorrectly to their hearts' content, AS LONG AS THEY MAINTAIN THE TWO CONDITIONS IMPOSED IN THE PARAGRAPH. That is:
1) Each and every word must start and end with the right letter.
2) The rest of the letters must all be in there, in the proper numbers, although they can be out of order.
You do that, and misspell away! (It's actually harder than spelling the stuff right in the first place.)
Oh, and I'm not a great believer in spelling checkers, either, although it's better than nothing, I guess. But spelling checkers just tell you if what you typed is a word, not the word you mean, or even anything close. Four instants, I cane right a satins lake thistle won. And a spelling checker will give it a green light.

Thanks Linda, when the author (not Tiny) says "spelling isn't important" those two conditions for human recognition of words get forgotten. I suspect the original author way back when was joking but I've seen others use it as true justification.

I've often thought the same. And yes, of course we make patterns out of things that are mixed up -- it's what makes puzzles so popular (and solvable)! It doesn't make a bunch of miscellaneous letters intelligible. (Great, now I'm wondering how much of this I misspelled!)
Linda
P.S.: Tiny, sorry for threadjacking!

Yep. And was it harder than spelling it right?

If it's so easy for you to spell correctly, why are we having this discussion?
