The Domain of Lovious Prime

[Lovious]

Prime nods "Good Evening Vlad"

The door opens, and the butler is ready to assist Vlad, he says, "Is there anything you require before you go?"

[VladGrimme]

Vlad smiles and says,"No thanks." Vlad leaves the mansion. Once outside the Mansion Vlad invokes the power super speed and in a blur is at the gates of Prime's domain. He takes one last look at the  Mansion and steps into the soot filled air of Proper.

Vlad flies to the gates of Prime's domain and lands. Once he enters the domain, he runs at amazing speeds and within seconds is at the front door. He knocks on the main door.

There is a small delay this time before the lights in the main hall go on, and the door opens.

"Welcome Vlad."  The butler stands back to allow entry into the mansion.

[VladGrimme]

Vlad enters the mansion and says. "Should I wait for you to announce me or should I just go see the Master. You should inform the master that I am ready for test."

[Lovious]

The butler looks to the office door, which has been open since midnight.

"I think right now is a perfect time to see the Master.  You know the way by now."

With that he bows.

[VladGrimme]

Vlad walks to the office and opens the door. Once inside Vlad speaks,"Master Prime I am back and I have the answers for your questions. May I sit down."

:Prime smiles::  "I have been awaiting.  I am ready to recieve your answer.  Please, make yourself comfortable."

[VladGrimme]

Vlad sits down and nervously begins shuffling cards. Once he seems as comfortable as possible he begins to speak,“ There are many reasons for me taking you on as my Master. I am forced to choose five I will give you the best. First to my knowledge you are the most powerful avatar in the nexus. I would only want the best if I am truly going to learn. Second I respect you, I have had many masters and friends but I can’t say I truly respect them. If I am going to listen I must respect my Master. Third I fear you. I am truly scared of you. I know that at any time you wish you could simply end me or worse. With that in mind I will not betray you no matter how powerful I become because of this fear. Fourth I know you are pulling strings behind the scenes though I do not hear of it. I know you are always present. I wish to learn this subtly and manipulation. Finally I believe you are the most knowledgeable. I wish to learn the secrets of the nexus and you are the one who knows them.” Vlad pauses for a moment to collect his thoughts and finish his rant. Once composed Vlad continues,” For the second question this answer took a lot of time to figure out. First I have been a practiced cultist since I was a child. I believe that with my previous knowledge of the occult, I will be a quick study and malleable to your ideas. Second I have performed many rituals with incredible success though I can’t say it was all as controlled, as I liked it to be. I have the potential I just need the guidance. Third I have the courage. Though I fear you I have the grit to ask for your teaching. Fourth I learn from my mistakes. For example I sacrificed my house on the last ritual performed by accident and the botch taught me to learn control and seek out a teacher. Finally I am lucky, what I lack in skill or enthusiasm I make up with luck. My friend told me it is better to be lucky than dead. I am finished I will wait until you have figured out what you want me to do.” Vlad stops shuffling and relaxes.

::Prime listens intently and when Vlad is done, he nods.::

  "In every failure there is a success waiting to be realized.  When failure is properly acknowledged as in the realm of possibilities, it too can be manipulated into a success.  With time, you may even learn to embrace failure as one of your greatest tools to achieving success.  When all are against you and your goals, you will achieve your goals by encouraging aggressive initiatives to fail and by so failing having those of whom worked against them actually be working to achieve your eventual desired outcome.  When your enemies finally come to the realization that whether they allow your plans to go through or not you have prevailed, and there is nothing they can do to stop you, they will dispair."

  "Now, tell me, what do you stand to benifit, I were to refuse to teach you?  Then, what would you benifit if I chose to punish you with torture?"

[VladGrimme]

Vlad thinks and speaks,"If you refuse to teach me, it will drive me to work even harder. I would dedicate my time to out learning you. I would drive myself to be even more powerful than you. If you chose torture me, it may break me and I may lose myself. This may drive me toward vengeance and in order to achieve my goal I would probably try to become more powerful so I could hurt you. In the end either way would drive me to become more powerful and I would work my ass off to to get my goals." Vlad finishes and waits for a response

"If I were to refuse to teach you, you would not have lost anything, which is always benificial compared to losing something.  In addition, if you are adept at social manipulation you could use my refusal to demonstrate the antiquity of my methods, and consolidate power under a newer, fresher regime... yours.  A possibility even now as I agree to take you on.  Finally, you would be free of my influence and taint, you will owe me no favors, and have no reason for undo retribution against you (besides that which most could expect) if your plans were to become inconvient for me.  I wouldn't call it a windfall to not be taught by me, but there are advantages, and some others, unspoken, might be so advantageous as to almost hope I refuse.

If I were to torture you... greatly, I would be giving away my power.  You would have seduced me into demonstrating a variety of the pains and horrors I could inflict on you, and should you survive them, as the purpose of torture is not to destroy, you would be able to understand how horrible my wrathe can be, and then rationalize a situation where you would be willing to suffer those consequences in order to meet the objectives of some other goal."

"You are not lacking in thought, and waiting for the fifth week, to the day, to enter my mansion.  Attention to detail is key.

[VladGrimme]

Vlad listens caught on every word. Once Prime seems finished Vlad speaks,"Well if I have learned anything at all dealing with the arcane detail is everything."

[Lovious]

"Power is power.  Doing any action with out thought can lead to a series of events both unseen, and often unfortunate.  You have aready begun your first lesson in the law of fives.  When you have internalized the law of fives so that to think of straying from them causes five different benifits of doing so to spring into your mind, you will find that you are in control of every situation you elect to place yourself in.  Once you have mastered your intentions and actions, arcane matters will seem much more natural.  You will shape the world around you carefully and precisely."

"But as to other more basic matters.  Tell me about your methods to maintain grounding.  What have you been instructed or discovered on your own?  I do not wish to teach anything that is simple to you, nor do I want to skip the basics."
