Let the dice roll where they may.

OK Gang:

I'm starting a new topic here.  I originally read about this on Board Game Geek (BGG).
I think it's appropriate here as well.  Most board game players have a favorite color
"piece" so to speak.  My favorite game color piece is purple, because it's the color of
royalty, and when I win a game, I can say I "kinged" everybody.  Okay, it's not
Shakespeare, but I've put in my two cents.  How about you?  I'd like to hear from
as many gamers as possible.  I've also submitted game proposals for Southern
Exposure, so look out!!  Play nice, and if you can't play nice, play carefully.

Variety girl here.  HATE being stuck with the same color always, usually pick by some idiosyncratic criteria, like what I'm wearing.

Of course, if I keep playing with the same people, and THEY always want the same color, I don't always have a lot of choice.  Grin

My first pick is usually blue, but I'm happy with most any color.

Like Linda, I will sometimes use what color I'm wearing to choose my piece(s). I own a lot of blue.  Wink

Smiley Between Tiny and Kate, we've got the colors of a traffic light.  But it seems Blue has
the lead so far.  Keep those colors coming.

I'm a big fan of bushed metal or the piece you know isn't actually a part of the game, like the wooden spool or the twisted up fork.

Undecided  Well, so far, blue has the lead.  But I see we have people who don't like to be saddled with just
one choice.  Of course, scientifically this means diddley squat!!  But how about brown, white,
black, and is there another purple person out there?  Come on let's hear from 'ya.

I used to grab for RED in every game, but when I started playing board games regularly I noticed that red was a popular color and
  • I couldn't always get it
  • When I made a grab for red early on I would wind up depriving someone else of their favorite

So I switched to purple. But I still shoot for red when there's no purple available.
