An Evening In Xenia

Near the shores a Xenia, a small boat rows up. Well, technically speaking, Sigma rows a small boat up. He's dressed neatly, in what Crab consider formal wear (which is to say, it's not dirty, torn, or smelly, but not really fancy). He pulls it up to the shore, runs a rope to a nearby tree, and ties the boat. He pulls two packages out of the boat, one small and rectangular (though apparently squishy), and one long and thin, not unlike a bag containing a bottle of wine.

Whistling cheerfully, Sigma approaches the house.

It is a beautiful evening in Xenia. Actually all nights in Xenia are absurdly beautiful, but there is a lightness and excitement in the air tonight. A breeze of celebration. Andromache's home lights are lit and welcoming. The garden in blooming. The aroma of flowers dances with the tang of the sea air, and the fireflies are just starting to come out to play.

Kay and Thea jump and skip over the lawn and leap after the flying darts of light. Andromache welcomes Horace, Des, Fox, Ray [and anyone else not in a boat who was trying to get to the house] to her domain.

The party takes a few minutes to exchange names and enjoys the last of the sunset-- allowing the little girls play in the grass for a while, but as the sky's colors deepen, everyone moves towards the front door of the elegant Mediterranean home.

Guests are lead through the foyer.

Eli wanders in from the garden area to the foyer, not exactly surprised by folks - he has been appraised of the situation by a tour guide. Cheerfully, he wordlessly waves, hanging back and enjoying the scenery. He's wearing a long-sleeved loose blue shirt, blue jeans, and a length of string as a belt. Sneakers below and a close-cut crew cut on top.

Everyone finds themselves comfortably located in a pristine sitting room. There is a full bar and a huge spread of enticing mezzes and tapas [Greek and Spanish appetizers]. The walls are tastefully covered with master artwork (and one or two of the latest toddler originals). There is not one uncomfortable seat in the whole place.

Andromache lets the Kay and Thea meet the guests and eat their dinner from the appetizers before scooping the children up.

"Ladies, it's time for you to say goodnight." The twins pout until Andromache says, "I'll be right back down after story time. Please enjoy yourselves and make yourself at home. Just don't eat too much or you won't have room for dinner." Satisfied, Kay and Thea wave goodnight to the guests and blow bubbly air kisses over their mother's graceful Amazonian shoulders as she carries them up the stairs.

Mack, hearing that the party seems to be inside the manor will go to the door and ring the bell. As he is waiting for the door to open he will hold the box in front of him, down at a level of about Andromache's chest.

Despite their seemingly limitless energy, Kay and Thea have had a long day. Before the eigth page of Goodnight Moon, the sisters are sound asleep, snuggled together in their spacious crib. Hearing the bell, Andromache kisses her daughters and heads back downstairs to answer the door.

Mack stands waiting at the door fairly confident in what he will say as a greeting to Andromache, however when the door opens and he sees her in her white flowing dress and her hair partially down he seems to hesitate. He seems to be genuinely impressed. After a few awkward seconds he finds his voice. "Good Evening Andromache, I got this for you, I came here to take you up on your generous offer to come to your domain and recieved an invitation to your party. I was hoping perhaps we can talk." His eyes roam a bit as he takes her in, not in a lewd way, but in an appreciative way, before returning to her dazzling eyes.

Andromache's eyes widen in delight. "I wasn't sure you would come, but I'm so glad you did. I just finished putting the girls to bed and it took much less time than I was expecting. Everyone's inside, but there's loads to eat and drink and plenty of people to mingle with. I don't think anyone will miss me for a little while."

She smiles. "There are plenty of places to chat in here or we could perhaps stroll through the garden. Would you like to come in or shall I come outside?"

"Either way is good, but perhaps you should open your present first." Mack offers the box to her. It has a bit of weight to it when she takes it, it is wrapped with paper and has a simple string tied around it to keep it closed.

"Oh!" She laughs, blinking, and looks at the box. Clearly, whatever she was noticing before, the gift wasn't it- regardless of his mention. "I'm so sorry! I don't know where my mind is tonight." She takes the gift from him, but rather than looking at the box as she fingers the wrapping, her eye-contact holds steadier.

"This is very generous. You didnt have to bring anything. And I'm sorry -- I should have thanked you-- I was just so pleased that you came that your gift didn't even have a chance to register. I must have been..." she takes her own appreciative glance and smiles, "distracted."

Mack gives a bit of a shy smile as he sees Andromache seems as flustered as he feels. "You mentioned something that your Domain lacked temporarily when we talked last. I could not allow that to continue so I figured I would help you restock." He says with an even bigger grin. When Andromache opens the box there are many different types of gourmet chocolates and fudge inside. There are many Dark Chocolate selections as well. "You are the sweetest person I have gotten to talk to in a long time so I thought I would bring you something sweet as well."
