I have been reading the Ubercon Forum boards.  That is the source of this information.

The Spring Ubercon has been cancled due to "hotel renovation."  They expect the next Ubercon (#9) to be in October,   dates and location T.B.A.

I will post more as it becomes available.

The new projected dates for Ubercon 9 in New Jersey are October 12 - 14, 2007.  These dates are still tentative.

I will post more as the information becomes avaiable.   Smiley Cheesy

There are new developments to report, however incremental.

There is a new thread on the Ubercon Forum.  This is under ''General Discussion" and was posted by "Sheroux," who is listed as "Site Administrator."

The new thread is "Ubercon returns, with a vengence!"

The posting confirms the weekend of October 13.  Location is not mentioned.

I will continue to monitor the Ubercon Forum and post on Ubercon 9, here, as it develops.

Finally, the material about Ubercon Great Lakes has been taken down from the Ubercon website.

The news from the Ubercon forum is mixed.  They are in talks with three hotels.  Two of them could host the Ubercon 9 convention in October.  The third in November.  If all three fall through, they will drop the Fall convention and focus on the Spring convention.

The staff are not yet ready to admit defeat.  The word is "maybe."

I will continue to monitor the situation and report as things develop.

One more important note.  The Ubercon Webmaster is now on active duty in the military.  This is why the Ubercon website has been slow on updates.

I'm still monitoring the Ubercon website.  The latest word:

The tentative dates for October '07 are out.
November '07 is a maybe.

I will try very hard to contain my excitement.

Here we are.  It is August 13, 2007 and no solid information yet.

November seems unlikely.  There just isn't time.

I will continue to monitor the Ubercon website and Forum.  At this point, mostly out of habit.

It's a shame, really.  I had fun running games at Ubercon 8 last October.  Quite
a few Double Exposure gamers were there as well.  It's like a triple whammy.
There's no Ubercon, as of now and looking doubtful, at best.  There will also
be no QuestCon in Long Island or Southern Exposure, either.  Unless you're
willing to travel, it looks like Dreamation will be the next big gaming event in
this area.  A little sad, but that's how it's shaping up right now.

Unless you play in the Avatar System - we have an Avatar-only convention the weekend before Halloween (I think?  might be wrong on the date).  Everyone should show up to that and RP with us Smiley

The Ubercon administration were serching for a new location ever since LaQuinta Inn in Secaucus left them without a hotel.  It seems this was the best they could come up with.  I understand that they were desperate.  I don't like the choice, but I understand.  I'm waiting to see if there is any kind of shuttle service.

The people who have cars won't care.  I travel by public transit.

Price Correction:

The primary page on the Ubercon website continues to list the weekend pass at $40.  A mouse click away and the weekend pass is listed at $55.

I just report what I see, mistakes and all.

I don't know.  I get all my information from the Ubercon Website and Forum.  I don't have any axes to grind.  I'm just making information available.

I've been to most of the Ubercons in the past.  I'm holding off on my decision on this one based on whether or not there is a good bus ride there, or a shuttle ride from Meteuchen.  The quality of past Ubercons has been variable.  Some of them have been very good.  Others, not so much.  Generally, when transportation has been good, the effort was worth it on ballance.  So far, the transportation for this one does not call to me.
