Betacon in March cancelled

   Betacon, which was scheduled for the weekend of March 2 - 4 has been cancelled, due
to hotel renovations.  This comes directly from the man who was putting Betacon together.
IIRC, his name was John and he was selling things in the Dealer's Room at Dreamation.  It's
strange, because Ubercon IX, which was also scheduled for February or March, was also
cancelled due to hotel renovations.  Ubercon's people are doing a weekend in Michigan in
March, John said Betacon will take place in October or November.  The Ubercon website is

Has there been any legitimate follow up with this? Is Betacon still on?

I didn't realize that Drew never made an official notice, but yeah, it's cancelled due to the hotel.

Well here is the official word... I am working with a hotel for a weekend in late August... I am actuly gonna have a date and details by end of this month (I hope). THis time I have the DE people (Vinny) helping with the hotel contract so hopefully things will pan out. When I know more I will let everyone know.

It's July and August is approaching.  Any definite dates and a location for Betacon yet?
