Do we have solid dates for the Lugosicon 2007 yet?  It's my favorite con.  I would like to make my hotel reservations.

I have an official answer from Vinny:
There are no official dates for Lugosicon yet.  The hotel doesn't have the space for us that weekend, and we have to go elsewhere.  However, it WILL still be in Jersey, and Vinny is working on making this happen as soon as he can.  This is only a recent development, and we hope to have it resolved soon.  New answers will be posted as they come.

**  A hotel with a large common room would be really handy ... because then we'd all be in the same place and could -gasp!- roleplay together instead of separated rooms

Sppt!

Not everyone likes being in big huge rooms where they may or may not be able to HEAR the people they are trying to RP with.

Ok i know there is a couple of places that cons have been held at before and pretty sure vinny has thought of them like where Southern Exposure aka Shorecon was held at and the holiday inn in Tinton falls where Moncon used to be held at. you know just food for thought they have the rooms and are used to haveing people like us there...Being Load, Drunk, and Running on 4 hours of sleep in 3 days

I hatehatehate that hotel down in Cherry Hill.  It's evil.  And dumb.  And has a weird freaky setup.  Who builds a convention hotel with a pool in the most important area (the center) ?

Lugosicon has also been held at the Tinton Falls Holiday Inn before, hasn't it?  I distinctly remember the walls in one function room being nearly ruined by direct application of black "Silly String" type stuff.

My vote, despite the low likelihood that I would be in attendance, is for the Somerset Quality Inn.

Yeah i hate cherryhill hotel to like you said the layout is crazy and its so far for most of us living in north jersey/new york areas. I really dont care where lugosicon is as long as it isnt like a motel 6 and we all are crammed into 1 stateroom NO BUENO!

**  In the olden days ::bones creak::  we had one primary room where everyone interacted and it was great (if you look at dexcon and everyone pretty much gathering in the Con suite it was also very good).  Besides, if you need quiet time with someone you could always leave the main assembly area.

**  Yeah, that is obnoxious as all get-out, especially for a larger con

A great hotel was the one in Danbury, CT - that had an awesome layout: one large main room (which could easily be separated into as many as 9 sections because it had four large pillars in the center), a smaller room to the side (which was great for con suite), and very large open corridors for more private interaction.  I'm not saying we should go to CT, but the layout is definitely one I'd like to see again.
