<sarcasm>Half a mile? And up hill?! Hoary Carp! I'd better cut back on the 7 mile run I had planned for that morning!</sarcasm>
There are also taxis that show up randomly in addition to the shuttle. </sarcasm>
From experience:
1: I called the hotel for the shuttle. I was told it was "busy" and would be available in about "15 or 20 minutes." Figuring that I could be onsite before that, I decided to try the walk.
2: It was brisk (weather-wise) but not particularly unpleasant (wearing a leather coat and gloves). The hardest part was carrying my luggage.
3: It took me about 10 minutes. That puts it at just about 1/3 to 1/2 mile. The "uphill" is not particularly steep.
4: If one looks from the Metropark train station, one can see a Siemens office building (the name is up at the top). The hotel is directly across Wood Avenue S. from that. It's really not as far as I had feared.
5: YMMV
