Including the GM time freeze? Add that to the 60 day count, and I think evey time the thread got bogged in other "waiting-on-a-rules-debate-to-act" should extend it...

((Adding the GM time freeze, it blows up on the 4th (appropriately). As for adding time for every other rules argument? No. At a con, unless a GM says "time freeze", time keeps ticking, no matter how many arguments the players get into. Otherwise, we could extend the resurrection count just by arguing amongst ourselves.))

OOC: Makes sense.

IC: If Cutthroat does not need to actually take the book, his next Action will be to read it...

†  Aware of the tactical situation, Sebastian heaves Sigma over his shoulder and makes a break for the nearest outcropping - taking cover from the blast (ooc - removes self and Sigma from line-of-sight)

†  ooc - $#!+, where is the discussion re: moving corpses on the field of battle?

†  ooc - hunh ... I guess it would technically be considered fleeing combat ... but I'm not fleeing combat, I'm just removing myself from line-of-sight ... everyone knows where he is, he's just taking cover ... but technically, it is leaving combat, sorta, but when he pops up from behind the rock after the blast he somehow won;t be able to fight because of Nexal physics?  I'm confused :-P

OOC: Unfortunately, we have no game mechanics for hiding behind landscape while in online combat without having established what was there before. So, claiming a rock is conveniently there to hide you, once a line of sight effect is threatened...

According to the rules of Bomb, the only way to avoid the effect is to flee with normal flee rules in effect. Picking up a body is an action and will cause you to go boom. The power states very specifically that no other actions can be taken other than moving away from the bomb. Sebastian has to choose whether he is fleeing combat, or trying to help Sigma. If he tries to help Sigma it will be after the explosion on his initiative.

Mind you, Cutthroat hasn't started reading yet, and won't do so until his next Init. If you are not contesting Seb's Flee, then he is out of the combat area, and theoretically out of harm's way. Although, I think under the current mishmosh of corpse moving that grabbing Sigma may indeed be an Action, leaving the pair of them still here next round.

Sigma: incapacitated

Cutthroat begins to read the book...

(OOC: at this point, all combatants have the choice of taking an Unchallenged Flee.)

(P.S.: Also, be warned that Mark goes to the hospital tomorrow for surgery. And yes, just as we would show consideration in a real event to somebody needing to go to the hospital, I will be calling a GM freeze on all people remaining in the combat at that time. You may continue to play your characters elsewhere, but be warned this scene will stop for a period of time. However, do not let that influence your decisions to remain here or not - as I said, you can still play your characters elsewhere, just not here.)
