DOBA!

« on: March 04, 2008, 01:38:26 PM »

Apparently Gary Gygax died in his sleep overnight.  I can't say I was his greatest fan, but I have to admit he radically altered my life in some very positive ways, not least of which was greatly expanding my circle of friends around the world, and helping me develop at least a few social skills, not to mention giving me a practical outlet for creativity, and otherwise enriching my life in many ways.  D&D will never be my favorite game, but none of my faves would exist without it.

So raise a glass, ladies and gentlemen, to one of the men who brought us here.

Linda

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Gygax

The Holy Knights of Gygax, who were ordained at GenCon by the swift strike of The Dice-Bag of Infinite Polyhedrons wielded by his very hand, mourn the loss of our patron.

Godspeed, Dungeon Master.

I guess he failed his saving throw vs death...  Goodbye Gary, and thanks for all the memories.

BTW, I'm going to be wearing a black armband at the next convention, commemorating Gary, if anyone wants to join me, please let me know.
