Hyran hands a small white pill to Shamus. "This is a painkiller, but it won't fix any of the causes of the headache. As soon as we have wrapped up here, we'll go back and get you checked out."

†  A calm, peaceful river winds its way through Proper, the flowing water lapping at the rocks that dot its path.  The serenity of the scene is abruptly broken as a man in his mid-to-late twenties breaks the surface, catching his breath.  He makes his way to the bank of the river and pauses a moment, running his fingers through his sandy brown hair.  The respite lasts only a moment as he unslings the shotgun from his shoulder and begins the process of disassembling it into its component parts.  There is no art or premeditation to the act - it is a simple, automatic process as he takes a rag from his tactical vest and goes about wiping down the weapon.  Once the process is complete - a task requiring perhaps a minute of his time - he repeats it with the pair of semiautomatic pistols strapped to his thighs.

    A flash of light and the sound of an explosion shocks the hunter into the now,,causing Sebastian to look up.  There is no hesitation as the weapons return to their holsters and the Citadel breaks into a run toward the sound of the incident.
