In The Bazaar

The ghostly form of Daniel McCullen finally leaves the remains of his once beautiful home. He wanders about the Bazaar looking for something (a flower shop).

Right now the Bazaar is in kind of a wrecked state due to having the remains of Daniel's house explode in and around it.  The end result is akin to a demilitarized zone.  Buildings are trashed, stores are closed, rubble lines the streets.  Robotic security units are openly patrolling, and collecting rubble pieces.  The video bulletin boards all are posting the notice

At this point the repairs to the Bazaar are almost completed.  Business and commerce have just about returned to their former levels.  There's still a faint hum of whatever new machinery Paladin Industries installed near the Nexus Hotel's real estate.  The Vid BBS are all welcoming avatars back to the various establishments.  None of the security robots are in plain sight anymore.  The place where the Diginet Cafe once stood has a black velvet rope and stantions around it.  There's a sliver plaque over the front door that reads:

"IN HONORED MEMORIAM OF J. SPENCER MICHIGAN, PROPRIETRESS OF THE DIGINET CAFE

THESE DOOR ARE YOURS TO OPEN, PLEASE COME HOME SOON.

     -YOUR FRIENDS FROM THE NEXUS BAZAAR AND CASINO"

As the speeder approaches the Bazaar area Mack is looking for an antenna like structure or something that could be used to broadcast a TV signal.

*The speeder finnally comes up to a spot where shamus can park he turns off the speeder and hops out and takes a look around*

"Wow this place cleaned up fast."

Almost as if on cue, one of the advertising/information kiosks is playing back something from a Paladin Industries advertisement.  "...-ladin  Industries, we pride ourselves on our commitment to efficiency..."

OOC: I can't remember if the tower for broadcasting is there or not. If someone knows please tell me, so I can react one way or the other. Assuming I do not see a TV tower however.

Mack will extract his large body from the speeder and walk over to one of the informational kiosks, after examining it for a second he will activate it and ask for the location of the TV studio where Jenny (formarly of Lightfoot, currently of Delphi) broadcasts from.

There is no identifiable tower for broadcasting.



The kiosk responds by bringing up a promo Spot for The Jenny Channel.  Flashes of interviews with Bron Price, Esper, and others flash by, backed with complelling music.  The promo closes with a link to a blog for the show,http://thejennychannel.livejournal.com/, and a fanmail address, "karmakaze at gmail dot com".

Out of nowhere the smell of blood hits everyones olfactory sense. Where there was no one stands none other than Vlad Grimme accompanied by Blood Gollum Lilith. Vlad stands in a duelers stance. His left hand resting on his peace maker with his right on the hilt of a Black bladed Katana. He looks to the 2 lightfoot before him and speaks," good day Shamus, Hody Mack. I am looking for the Lightfoot, I talk to for making contracts. Could you direct me to him or her?." A wolfish grin spreads across the undead gunfighters face.

Right after Vlad finishes there's the resonant click of a Zippo lighter lid closing, followed by several other clicks of mechanisms.  From atop one of the roofs nearby, Ashleigh takes a drag on a clove cigarette and exhales.  The information kiosks all blare the classic whistle notes of the theme from "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly."

"Vladimere Grimme.  On behalf of my employers, I'm going to ask you nicely to please dismiss your golem, and place all your armaments down on the ground.  Do not bother to try to employ any powers, abilities, or use any weaponry.  The disruptors in this area have already been tuned against you, and set to shoot if you try.

Ravensline, Shamus, you have permission to leave the area, or assist the security forces.  Give, any aid to Grimme and your asses are toast also."

It starts as a flicker.

A blue spot of light, around three feet off the ground. It flickers again.

Again.... again... each flicker taking half the time of the previous to show again, until it's a constant pulse of blue. A thin fog creeps from the flicker, and the stench of blood is soon replaced with a newer scent, Ozone.

The flicker blossoms into a sphere, eight feet wide. Motes of bluish energy flare out, and die the moment before they are born, visible only as an afterthought. The fog thickens, the sphere becomes opaque for a moment, for the eternity between hummingbird heartbeats, and then is semi-transparent once again. Where there was nothing, a form is now seen. Where there was ground, now there is thick snow. The sphere dissipates, the blue energy waifing off on the wind. Where there was nothing, now there is Yuri.

The Octagon is silent and all but motionless, save for a gloved hand stroking the rippled skin of his creation, Esper. He is silent, but he does not look pleased.

Vlad smiles and speaks,"Oooh a trap, I love these. Well I am willing to put your disruptor to the test." (OOC Activate shadow form) And Lilith gollum will move to a defensive position(OOC: Taking the blow for Vlad)

Ok.  Pause.  Shadow Form doesn't happen unchallenged here, as there's no way in heck it's a surprise.  As such it's going to provoke combat, and initiative for round one.  Do you want to withdraw that?  Or do we need to know who's in this round and who's not?

"My suggestion Vlad, put your weapons away and don't fight a useless battle, then go to the Cove and talk to Bron. He is your best chance. Lightfoot officially does not take contracts anymore, but Bron is rather old school. He may be willing to listen to your proposal." Mack makes no aggressive moves unless he is drawn into combat, but also does not move, and shows little to no concern at all the hardware drawn and magic being employed around him, it is as if this kind of thing is as normal to him as breathing.
