Let the dice roll where they may.

« on: June 16, 2008, 04:38:01 PM »

Just wondering if anyone was going to make the trip out to Columbus, Ohio for this mega-event.
I'm considering it. I'm thinking of arriving on Friday, June 27th and staying till the 29th. I have
no car, so it's either Greyhound or flying for me. I've heard about this event, I just want to see it for myself. There are day passes available. More info at www.originsgamefair.com/2008

I've checked. Since I waited till the last minute, the planes are pricy. Greyhound is reasonable, but it's a 12-hour trip by bus, each way. I'll be at Dexcon and ConnectiCon in July and August, respectively. I just might have to wait till next year for Origins, unless I can get a real good plane deal on www.priceline.com

So, how did it go? I decided not to go since I'll be going on vacation next month.  About how many people were there?

I had fun.  Spent all my time at The Gathering playing Living Arcanis, Witch Hunter, and Fellowship of the White Star.  That section's like Old Home Week; it's run by Gail Reese (who's co-run RPGA here) and Art Lobdell, another of our stalwarts.  They did a great job.

My last slot was run by Victor Long, the head of the FWS campaign, who's psyched about their DEXCON events.  We had a nice chat.

Alas, only managed about 15 min. in the Dealer's Room.

Why, so you can see how much better DEXCON is?  Grin

There certainly are cons "bigger" than DEXCON, but ...there are no cons "better" than DEXCON!  DEXCON is my "gold standard".  It is the one to which I compare all others.
