Okies,

It is official.  I will be running a Combat Clinic at DEXCON 11.  It will be on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00PM.  This is during a dinner break, and will keep you free for prime time plot events.

What it is:
-A completely OOC teaching session for Avatar System combat, run by the Combat GM staff.
-A brief rundown of the basic mechanics of combat intended for people who are new to the system, have never participated in a combat, or would just like a refresher course of 3.0 combat mechanics.
-A chance to ask questions of the combat GM staff, regarding the interactions of skills, items, and powers.
-A chance to try, hands on combat, and ask for advice/criticism of whether you're getting the most of your skills, items, and powers.
-A chance to ask whether tactics you've developed are legit.

What it is not:
-A bitch session about how you feel your character has been nerfed, and want a refund of AP, etc..
-A discussion solely for advanced combat tactics.  As always, we're not opening the GM play book to you.
-A chance to have me input your Lord Powers/Skills into my records.  My computer will be in another room. Wink

If there are any questions you would specifically like addressed, that you think fit the above.  Post them here, and we will try our best to answer them at the clinic.  If this goes well I'll see about setting aside time for them, more regularly at small avatar events as well as big cons.

Finally, make sure you have your CC(s) and Items handy!  See ya then!

This is the required crash course for the new players that have never played the system before, right?

*grin at Shamus*  Unless you have latex CC's, item cards, and ac decks, we'll be ok.

No course is ever required.  We heartily endorse attending one every so often, just so you've experienced combat, so that you understand its flow and what is required of you as a player.

I understand that. But for a truly first-timer in any particular LARP. IMO, a required crash course in the rules a main stay.
