Since I have a spare moment, I thought I'd get this party started with the following questions:

.5)  How are these championships structured?

1)  What games are part of the circuit?

2)  When does someone qualify for the national finals and what do they get for qualifying?

3)  Who keeps track of the qualifiers, and who provides that list for the person running the final final?

I can answer #3, I think.  It should be included in your packet for the final.  (At least, that's MY plan.)

Here is my 2 cents, I hope it helps

.5)  How are these championships structured?
If you are asking the question as it refers to conventions not run directly by Double Exposure the answer is, how they want to run them. Single elimination, round robin, etc.
At DE conventions that decision is made by Eileen and her staff with some direction from Vinny

1)  What games are part of the circuit?
As of the opening of the 2006 season the list is:
Puerto Rico
Carcassonne
St. Petersburg
Alhambra
Louis XIV
Power Grid
Warzone
Chronopia
Knights of the Dinner Table: HACK!
Buffy/Angel RPG
Bootleggers
Gloom
Lunch Money
B-Movie Games
D6
Palabra
HEX*HEX
DEAD HAND Chaos Poker
Run For Your Life, Candyman!
Complete Mafia for d20
Masters & Minions
CONTINUUM
Kung Fu Fighting
Nuclear War
Lost Worlds
Jungle Speed
Wooly Bully
The Haunting House
Kevin & Kell RPG
Fannish Poker
CyberGeneration

2)  When does someone qualify for the national finals and what do they get for qualifying?
They qualify by winning the DNCC event at there local convention.
They win a membership and a seat in the finals.
The finals for the 2006 season will be held at
DEXCON-9,  July 12 - 16, 2006

3)  Who keeps track of the qualifiers, and who provides that list for the person running the final final?
Each convention that runs a qualifying event in the DNCC is responsible for supplying Double Exposure with all the relevant information about the there winners.
The final list of participants (registered for DEXCON-9) will appear on
The BIG BOARD. (Double Exposures event sign up area)
Trophies are awarded to the overall winners.

So, does this mean that Eileen and Co. should work through the Big Board lists and Registration to collate the SE II national qualifiers, or is there someone already doing that?  And what happens to all the Big Board sheets/data after the con anyway?

Keeping track of the winners of DNCC events is the job of Big Board. They have already separated all DNCC events and have given them to Vinny to enter the names in to the database. Keeping track of the qualifiers is not the responsibility of the track leaders who have DNCC events. It is the job of Big Board. It is your job to make sure that they get the taffs properly filled out. To the best of my knowledge everyone has done their job successfully.

When it comes to conventions other than Double Exposure the answer again becomes it is up to the individual convention to reach out to and supply Vinny with the information.

Vinny is the final repository of all knowledge until it is regurated at Dexcon.
