Ok so I'm fond of Scooby Do but its a fairly nifty idea from a while back I still want to do.  For those who don't know(and can't guess) I'm some what well known for running an assortment of games crossing scooby do with various other things(to date including dungeons and dragons, call of cthuhlu and the blair witch project sucsessfully and one failed attempt at a Buffy cross over).  Basicly I want to see about getting enough people together to actually run this idea at a con some time in the near future.

A few possible suggested concepts to get the ball rollling:
1) Some thing involving multiple versions of the Scooby Gang(possibly with a find the real one theme)
2) Find the scooby gang(or just scooby) a large larp involving other cartoon characters trying to find the scooby gang to stop the witch from taking over the cartoon network.
3)The Scooby Do Reunion.  Basicly leave the original cast as characters(probably ST chars) and then open any one who has ever made an appearance on scooby do(adams family, harlem glob trotters, laurel and hardy, the three stooges the list is endless) as other options.

If any ones interested post here and if we get a decent number maybe we can try to get this lunacy off the ground.

Hi Kevin,
So what are you looking for here, sugestions on how to do this LARP, people to help you run it, or an idea of were would be the best place to run it.

I don't think you want to be discussing plot for a LARP on a public forum, and you know what they say, to many cheffs spoil the food.

I have been and are still interested in working on this LARP with you. We will need to get together atleast one weekend per quater to make this happen. What is the next Con that you will be attending.

will you be at Lagosi Con at the end of the month and if not attending could you swing by?
BTW what was the last LARP you played in?

I have a suggestion for you, if you wanted Scooby to interact with different genres, make Scooby as an Avatar character. You could then spin off adventures in your territory to be run at major cons. Just a suggestion.

At this point I'm looking for people to help me run it.  I'm only looking for a one shot(may be more if it goes really well) so the avatar idea doesn't really interest me.

I'm asking because I'm not good at doing this kind of work via e-mail, especially the initial set up.
What conflict resolution system would you use?

Sorry Tiny that part wasn't directed at you but at the other respondent.  TO answer your original question no I wasn't planning on attending Ligousi Con I can really only manage the three cons I go to normally.    The last LARP I played in was the Complete Mafia larp although I've played in a couple others over the years using various systems.  Which conflict resolution to use is also a question that would need to be resolved.  I agree about the meeting point the main thing at this point is getting enough people together to effectively organize and run it.

I jest Ran a LARP with Avonnele, we are talking about it now at:
http://www.dexposure2.com/forum//index.php/topic,406.0.html
It was a story that was inspired by Sin City.

There were 3 people involved in creating the LARP.

If you want to do this I'm all for it, I recommend that you make decisions that get the Idea moving. You don't want 10 people deciding how your game should run.

Kevin, are you serious enough about this to try to run it at DEXCON?

Well, the LARP bid form is very similar to the Game proposal form, so take a look and give it a try.

 Shocked
 Huh
 Cheesy
 Grin
 Wink

We need to talk, and you will need 1 or 2 assistant GMs
Think 1 GM per 10 - 12 players, a good ratio

Write the Story line with a fixed # of characters in mind, Don't leave it open for people to decide who they want to play.

Though they could pick who they want to play from the available pool of characters. Being that you could be using established cartoons with a twist players Will have a very strong idea of how to play them.

I have you # I will call tonight.

Secretary, please remind me to call Kevin.
