So I don't know how many people would remember it, but a few years ago a new game came out called the Sovereign Stone system, set in a world created by Larry Elmore, with rules written by Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman, and others. It was an excellent system in which stats were represented by the different kinds of dice (showing that no matter how good someone is at something, they can still screw up). I often described it to friends as having the intense RP of World of Darkness, with the action of D&D, an interesting combination.
As far as I know, there was only one book ever released for this system: The core rules. After that the campaign setting was then ported over to d20 *shakes fist* in which there are now many books all published by Sovereign Press, the same group that puts out the new Dragonlance d20 books. I saw this is a huge shame, seeing as how much I liked the system. I even attempted to run slots of it at the last Dreamation, but unfortunately had no players show up at all. The system was dead, and I had to accept the fact that I was probably one of the only ones who would admit to owning the book.
So the other day I'm in my local gaming store, and I see the new Serenity RPG, based on the movie for those that don't know, and put out by Margaret Weis Productions, a sister company to Sovereign Press. I was excited about it because it was a new RPG written by Weis and because I knew many Serenity fans among my gaming friends. I open the book, to see what kind of system it's using and, lo and behold, its the same system as the old Sovereign Stone game that I loved.
Now then, I'm going to attempt to scrape together the money to pick up this book, but I probably won't have it for a month or so. The question is, seeing as how I'm already familiar with the system in question, would anyone here care to possibly see a slot or two of the Serenity RPG (and/or the Sovereign Stone RPG for old time's sake) at the next Dreamation or DEXCON? And if so, since I'm actually not that familiar with the Firefly universe, would anyone who is familiar with the setting be interested in co-GMing it with me?
Let me know here.
Walter

Nothing is more important than Love and Family. Not power, not ambition.
The man who lives his life surrounded by those he loves, truly has all of the power.
