I just got my hands on a copy of this game.  has anyone heard of it/played it before? what can anyone tell me about the game play?

I put the name into the search bar on boardgamegeek.com and got the info at the link below.

There is a prestige pack, a scrye add on pack,
followed by expansion sets 1 - 7 and
a masters Addendum that was released in 2004

Hee-hee!  Tiny's getting hooked on the 'Geek.   Grin

Josh, he's just scratching the surface.  Go to www.boardgamegeek.com, feed "duel of ages" into the search window, click on the title in the results screen, and find more information than you'll know what to do with.

(I'd still like to hear what our regulars have to say about it, though.)

I have to say that it look shorribly repititous and full of dice rolling, yet it somehow works out very well, and is very entertaining. If you start with the basic character statistics and rules, though, it takes about an hour or two to feel like you're getting started (if you have the time, you won't notice this time passing). There are some quick start ideas there, and I found that with the quick start, you can run an hour or two long game and feel like you've played a streamlined old-school Avalon Hill-type game.
