you guys have been reading too much QoW. Tongue

I like the one person's reaction "please tell me he's a plant... you're kidding, right?" or words to that effect.

further and further we creep down the road.... I can't wait to see what happens when we get there... I give it only another 20 years or so.

I would love to know how he came up with that one.  Roll Eyes

I would like to agree with the "he's a plant" except there certainly is the possibility that he's not.  Even if he *is* a plant, its a sick joke; there are people like this out there. I wouldn't be surprised if he actually got more than an insignificant number of votes.[/color]

Shocked Shocked  I don't know what statement is more bizarre, the one about Darwin or the statement that the U.S.
should adopt Christianity to teach Muslims the error of their choice in  religion.  Holy sheep dip Batman!!!
This guy makes Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell look like liberals - and Lord knows that's not easy!!

That he got 22% of the vote is the most disappointing part.  He's obviously not stupid, and I'm sure he has some amount of personal charisma.  But still, how much worse could the other guy be to make you think, "hey, this guy sounds better than our other Democrat candidate".

I always though of myself as something of a moderate, or of holding sufficiently mixed views on a variety of topics that it amounted to the same, but then I see other people who're out there, and by counting off the standard deviations I find myself forced into the role of liberal extremist - just for not wanting to fuck people over 'cause I don't like them or think they've made appropriate lifestyle choices.  What's up with that?

As a Conservative, and a Christian, I am still not any closer to this loser on any political scale. I am glad he did choose to run as a Democrat however, had he run as a Republican, and somehow got some of the vote necessary to get on the ballot, it would have been all over the news and people would have said "See, Republicans are all Right wing Nazi's like this guy." Between Robert Byrd D-WV, Former Clan Wizard, and this guy, I hope we can simply say both sides have their whackos and just debate real issues that are at least somewhat in line with American values.

**  As a Moderate, Conservative-leaning Republican Wiccan - it even looks weird when I write it - I find myself off a lot of political scales.  I think most politicians are pandering to whatever fringe group they can get.  Not until the people get a little more ability to influence government will there be a change that favors the people over special interests (initiative and referendum in NJ? Yeah, that'll happen)
