Silence in One Corner of Proper

[Frigemall]

Day after day for several months, for miles around the fairly new chapel build by Pope Frig'emall, a booming could be heard. A rumbling boom over and over, The Eternal Boom. Suddenly the booming stops and the area around it becomes silent. The lights that were always on in the chapel go out and the area becomes enshrouded in an ominous quiet.

Green code begins to appear in the air, slowly forming into Jon Stone striding up to where his friends house had once been.  A look of horror and confusion is clear on his face as he stares at his friends home, now all to silent.  He had noticed the explosions that had always  marked this place had stopped, like one would notice how the pendulum on a clock has stopped swinging, and came as soon as he noticed the silence.

With no idea what had happened to the good Pope's home, or any idea where Pope Firg'em All is now Jon does the only thing he can think of.  Out of a pocket in his lab coat he places a small black bomb on the ground.  One of the Pope's old signal bombs.  Jon lit the fuse and backs up a few steps.  then the bomb goes off with a small pop, and Jon stands there hoping his friend, hoping anyone that knows why the explosions stopped will show up.  He then sits leaning up against a nearby tree to wait and see whats going on.

Yuri's automobile pulls up to the gates of the once hyperactive Vatican City, housing place for the Immaculate Kaboom. Yuri steps out with a solumn glance at the quiet and gloomy citadel which once housed his friend and confidant, perhaps even his brother, the Pope Frig'em'all.

"He is gone, Jon... Gone for the moment, perhaps, but he is gone. All we can do now is remember him, and give him a beacon to return to." With which Yuri reaches into his coat pocket, and pulls out the Signal Bomb that Frig'em'all gave to him so long ago. With a heavy heart, Yuri activates it, concentrates on it for but a moment, then puts it on the border of the Vatican and the rest of Proper, and as the bomb poofs into its signal beacon Yuri sighs, "Find your way home, old friend."

Yuri turns to Jon after a moment and gives his fellow housemate, and long time friend, a nod. "He made a choice..." senseing his friend's gnawing question, "He made a decision, to try and save Lovious. How that pans out is still yet to be seen."

From behind the assembled Avatars comes the noise of an old 9600 baud modem, and Cassie teleports in.

"Worry not. What is done can always be undone. But we have much to do before the end."

She places a hand on Yuri's shoulder. "Think, my friends. What caused all of this in the first place? A light-show, and a mis-worded wish from an otter. We still know not what power that little box had or what it was, but the otter might well be able to answer the second question - what did he use to get rid of Lovious? Perhaps we can use it to bring him - and Frig'emall - back."

The two arms on her back seem to have taken on a life of their own. "And do not forget, the initial question - how do we combine quantum and zany, and what happens - has been answered. So all was not a total loss."

Jon looks back and forth between the two a few times.  His face shifting from horror, to concern, to confusion and back again.

"Whait what, he's gone?  After Lovious?  What little box?  What wish made by an otter?  And by god what sort of horror did the quantum/zany combination create?  You guys gotta tell me whats going on."

"In short, some of us had gotten together to learn how to combine Quantum and Zany. Then, there was an odd spectacle of lights going on in Proper, so naturally we went to check it out. A small box fell from the sky and turned the assembled into varying entities of the Lovious Matrix. Cutthroat came by, made some kind of wish to bring everyone back to what they were before Lovious. Unfortunately, since we were all Lovii, and there was no Lovious before Lovious... Well, we all began to fade out of existance. Lovious himself then drank the wave of reality that was bearing down upon us, saving us but destroying himself - or so it seems."

She pauses for breath. "After that, as we were attempting to find a way to bring Lovious back, a Chaos Wolf appeared. It offered to grant wishes. Frig'emall offered himself in exchange for Lovious. However, Frig'emall is now gone and we are unsure of which of the Lovii came back or where it is. Socket also offered his head in exchange for Lovious, and we got.. well, Lovious's head. Not particularly useful. In an attempt to move Socket into a new body with a head, he got placed inside of mine, and we have decided to stay this way for the time being as we are far more capable of dealing with the situation this way. Our abilities are combined - which means his toon side is now combined with my quantum side." She grins evilly. "And that is quite fun.

"Does that answer your questions?"

Yuri smirks, stepping through to place the Beacon bomb on the now cold and dark alter within the cathedral. He pauses for a moment, then returns to Cassie and Jon.

"Yes, we must continue onward." Yuri attempts to recall the events of the moment where everything turned to, well.... everything.

Remembering through the brush with the shadow consciousness causes a visible twitch of his eye, though he presses onward, challenging the memories of doom and death for his friend, "The otter made a wish, for... what was the exact wording.... ahhh yes... a wish for These People to be as they were before Lovious." Yuri recalls, then allows his mental focus to return to the hear and now.

"The Proteus Initiative is almost ready, Cassie. The four you requested will be ready in time for the next gathering. Though, I am anxious to hear how you came to the answer of the initial question Cassie. I'd ask to see the math, but for some reason I'm envisioning the union of relatevistic particles and apple pies." Yuri continues, then turns to look back at the cathedral, "I await your return, old friend."

Yuri then turns to Cassie, "Wishes are dangerous things. I'd rather not put so much faith in them to undo their own damage. We need some degree of a plan."

"I do not intend to make a wish on his little wish-box. I wish to know what perverse, terrible entity or force powers it. After all, it took something meant to be kind and pure and tried to warp it to destroy many Avatars. It has a great power that could be very useful if we could harness it."

Jon listens intently as Cassie explains what happened.  When shes finished he stands there nodding alittle choked up.  "Well atleast he was trying to help someone, Firg'em All was always getting into trouble trying to help others.  but you're right, what we need to think of now is how to undo the damage done...or atleast how to keep something like this from happening again.  What happened to the box after all this transpired?"

Almost as soon as he asks the question he waves it away with a dismissive gesture.  He looks once more to the Vatican City and with sigh says, "Mabey it would be best for us to speek of this at Gunsmoke.  We could probably get more accomplished there than here for right now."

"Also if you two," he pauses for a moment and eyes Cassie/Socket,"uh, i mean three,i guess, are bussy i could always go see what others have to say about the events, get a few different perspectives, mabey piece what happened into a bigger picture by looking at it from multiple avatars perspectives and points of view.  Mabey a clue or two will reveal itself."

Yeah, I was gonna just go with a standing ovation, but I decided to stay employed.  Send this one to the All-Time Classic Line file, somebody.  (Which, if we don't have, we should.)  Great one, Cassie!

[OOC P.S.: Socket, feel free to drive the body around at any given point For anyone who reads what the Cassie/Socket conglomeration is up to, if Socket posts speech, it does in fact come out as Socket's voice. Any gestures it makes are done by the two metal arms on Cassie's back, not with her normal arms.]

Yuri seems lost in thought about something, then shakes it off, "We need as much data as possible. We're dealing with a fledgling Manifestation here, we'll need all the information we can get. We find out everything we can about this new construct, and meet then consolidate and conquer."

Yuri's thoughts drift again for a gnat's heartbeat.... "I'll see if I can enlist the aid of Delphi for seeing what the Nexus itself has to say about this fledgeling godling." And with a nod, Yuri heads off towards the Café.
