We need more hard working Staff members in our wargaming room during the conventions. Ideally, I would like to increase the regular on-site wargaming Staff by six+ energetic and enthusiastic members, to assist Senior Staff. What do we need?
We need day and night table coordinators (TC) for each day of a convention, as appropriate. Day TCs will work with the Senior Staff to ensure all day events have adequate table space, occasionally sweep the area to ensure it is clear of garbage, plan and set-up tables for events later in day, and perform other general room duties as required. A day TC's shift will generally be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and they will have the rest the convention to themselves. Similarly, night TCs will work with the Senior Staff to ensure all nighttime events have adequate table space, occasionally sweep the area to ensure it is clear of garbage, plan and set-up tables for the next day, and perform other room duties as required. A night TC's shift will generally be from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., and they will have the rest of the convention to themselves. I hope to have four table coordinators to cover these peak periods: Friday night, Saturday day, Saturday nig ht, and Sunday day.
In addition, we need a terrain coordinator for each day. The terrain coordinators will build, maintain and repair terrain with materials provided to ensure that GM's have sufficient terrain for events. (Why do we need to build and maintain our own terrain? By collectively investing some time and some effort into building, maintaining and repairing nice terrain, we may entice more players who will want to play on it. A visually spectacular wargame battlefield is significantly more enticing than one scattered with chipped, broken and ratty terrain that is showing its age. Why not build terrain before the conventions and repair it after them? We do; but there is just not enough time.... As you may have noticed, much of terrain we use is showing its age and needs to be repaired. In addition, many pieces of terrain have broken beyond repair and need to be replaced.) The shifts for terrain coordinators may be somewhat more flexi ble. However, one will clearly have to be available to assist with packing up the terrain on Sunday afternoon.
What do you get for being staff? Besides a genuine sense of satisfaction having helped everyone have a great time, you will have all or a portion of your convention attendance fee covered! Depending on the convention, and how much time you are willing to volunteer, that can be quite a hefty chunk of change! In addition, Staff members have access to the Staff Suite were food and beverages are available throughout conventions. If you are interested or if you know someone who might be interested in helping out please let me know.
I greatly appreciate your assistance and consideration and look forward to hearing from you!
Very best regards,

Greetings...
Having been out of touch since Dexcon 6 (yeah, its been that long) due to work and family, I want to get involved again. I did Security, having run it for Dreamation one year, and helped out in many other capacities. My thing was BattleTech and Rolemaster back then, so I had spare time between games. Now I'm more Boardgaming and Cards (Poker! Spades!). Anyhow, I'd like to get back in touch and help out for Dreamation and possibly DexCon (depends on work schedule).
And if Vinnie gets this: Where else can I be of assistance? Ping me on MSN or Yahoo if you care to chat about it.
Cheers!

C.M.Ramos,
If you're still interested in being generically helpful, check in with Staff Suite or Registration at any point during the convention and offer your services. It might very well be wiping a table down, or putting chips and fresh soda out in con suite, or watching the prize table for an hour, but it's all necessary stuff. :-)
Thanks for the offer!
