(OOC: Officially, this started at the Gathering.  However, because it is meant to be a mostly light-hearted scene with a zero-level Avatar, I'm calling this thread timeless.  If you want to have been doing it at the Gathering, go ahead.  If you're bored post-gathering, show up anyway.  All are invited.)

The chairs are on the outskirts of the Bazaar.  They are arranged in a generally assembly-like formation, five rows and four columns, though they appear to be much more comfy chairs than one would normally find at such a function.  They all face the same direction.  If they weren't so damned comfy, they might be called in formation, but the cushioning somehow ruins the effect.  They even lean back, if you want.

Ray nods solemnly at the chairs.  He pulls off his Proton Pack (on which no lights appear to be blinking), and heaves it over onto one of the chairs with a satisfying clunk.  Satisfying for everyone that doesn't understand proton packs, that is.  The few people who do understand them probably wince, and heave a sigh of relief when it doesn’t turn the nearby two miles into radioactive wasteland.  Ray waves a thank you to someone (Jon Stone, actually), and plops himself down in the second row, middle.

In front of the chairs, about eight feet from the nearest one, a large frame of text appears.  Something about an FBI Warning and being fined a quarter million dollars for doing a number of things, one of which is displaying a movie publicly.  It’s a good thing he didn’t have time to read it all, or the movie might have been over much sooner.

The block of text fades into an image of a large stone lion, and pans up to see a picture of the New York Public Library.  Ray is enthralled.  He watches as a librarian goes through her daily routine in the archives, complete with “down into the haunted basement” music. There’s a weird event with the card stacks, and then she starts running in terror.  She rounds a corner and encounters something loud and floaty, that roars at her, and Ray echoes the woman by offering out his own shout of surprise, toppling over on his chair, and knocking down the nicely formed rows.

While the theme music starts up, Ray quickly begins to set the chairs back up, but keeps glancing up to watch the movie as it continues to play.

A middle-aged woman in a con t-shirt and jeans wanders by on the way from the bulletin board, tucking a small silver -- well, it looks like a credit card, except shinier and without all that text and embossing -- into a pocket.

She barely gives a glance to the movie, or the level 0, but she looks quite intrigued by the device, and wanders over to it.

"Is this yours?" she asks the only Avatar she sees.  "And may I examine it?  I have never seen anything quite like it in my research."  (She talks over the movie as though it were a nearby, overloud conversation.)

"Oh, I should introduce myself, I suppose."  She makes two odd sounds, one rather like she's hawking to spit, and the other somewhat like a hissing cat, and continues, "100003005030, of House Renaissance.  Most Avatars just refer to me as Zero, for some reason.  Are you a scientist?  House Renaissance is always looking for new members."  She grimaces.  "Especially now."

Jon Stone is sitting in the back row with a tub of popcorn watching the movie.  As the movie starts he gestures for Ray to sit down and stop worrying.  Once Ray is seated he settles back into the chair for the movie.  When Zero comes by he hushes her as loud as he can and goes, "Quiet, theres a movie on.  Wait till its over to talk."  He then gestures to a chair for Zero to sit in and offers some popcorn.

Des walks into the room and takes a seat somewhere in the middle back on the sides with a box of sour patch kids. She keeps looking around at the other avatars trying to decide whats going on and what movies playing and who are these people.

**Eli has logged on**

Eli, in his jeans an blue tshirt, looks around. Seeing what's going on, he takes a seat. Kinda in the back. He looks at the popcorn tub, and then at the screen.

The movie continues to play.  Ray waves at everyone who walks in, and anyone within whispering distance gets told quietly that he'll talk to them after the movie.  Ray watches, amazed, as he appears on the screen in front of him, talking about scientific breakthroughs and ghosts.

(OOC: I'm going to assume that people are going to watch quietly and without major comment - if this isn't true for anybody (and i'm looking at Linda to correct me :-p ), tell me now.  Otherwise, I'll just go through the movie in short time.  15-30 minutes a day will cover the movie by the end of the weekend, and allow a bit of varied responses as needed.)

If no other RP: The movie continues for about 15 minutes or so - it progresses all the way up to the "Get Her!" scene, which Ray seems to be really into, although he doesnt actually laugh at it.

Zero looks surprised at the admonitions, and looks up at the screen, just as the very Avatar she was talking to appears -- and discusses science!

She promptly takes a seat and begins watching, taking out the little silver card and holding it in front of her, as she does.  She is intent on the screen, nodding here, looking surprised or perplexed there -- but never, ever laughing.

Des looks around at the filling room and up at the movie. "This is gonna be a fun night." she says to herself lightly for those around her to hear.

The movie continues:

The three men are kicked out of the campus.  Ray appears horrified while watching this.  Almost paniced, in fact. But that's nothing compared to a moment later when the other two sell Ray's parents' house.  And buy. . . well, at least they bought an awesome firehouse.  With a pole.  He looks confused at the scene with Dana (though that TV ad was pretty cool) and watches in awe as the eggs cook.  So, the business starts up with a fizzle (but check out the rockin' car!), and then Dana walks in and there's a big scene with Dana and Peter (which seems to frustrate Ray - the movie is about the team, and what the hell is this?).  And finally... We Got One!!  The team begins their chase to the hotel.

And the movie still continues.  No bathroom breaks here!

The Ghostbusters enter the hotel "quietly" on their first mission.  Ray bounces along to the music the whole ride.  He's excited, nervous, and can't wait to see what's coming next.  If this movie were about anything else, he would obviously be "way too into it."  But since he IS in it...

The three make their way up to the twelfth floor (thirteenth if you include the lobby, thinks Ray quietly) by claiming to be exterminators.  They talk a moment about the science behind the packs, and Ray scrambles for a piece of paper to write this down on.  Finding none, he turns back to the movie.  The Ghostbusters destroy a menacing housekeeper's cart, and then split up.  Ray is finally seen on his own - cigarette hanging from his mouth, gun in hand, pack heavy on his shoulders.  And he sees their ghost.  Which proceeds to be scared away by the blast of the proton pack.  And Peter is next:  he gets slimed.  The ghost proceeds down to the Ballroom level, and the three meet there.

The ghost orbits up near the ceiling, and Ray looks at it with some sort of goggles.  Watching this, Ray looks franticly on his person for a pair, and finds nothing.  Oh well, he'll have to build them, if he can figure out what they do.  Meanwhile, the Ghostbusters proceed to destroy the entire ballroom while catching this ghost - not the least of which includes the chandelier.  The trap goes out.  (Ray is frustrated to have not found one of those, either.)  The ghost is captured, the three bilk the hotel out of a good chunk of money thanks to Egon's money-handling skills, and they're off.

(Okay, I lied, this will probably take till about weds. at this rate)

Slipping into the movie area staying to the back row of seats, Arwen Galen quietly seats herself pulling out a small container of hot jala. The milky-green beverage accents the wrapped up packet of tapote she pulls out of a hidden pocket in her cloak. Settling back she watches the movie though half closed eyes occasionally nibbling on her treat.
