Arwen grows restless with the movie and decides to head out. Being polite in a redhead sort of way, she slips out quietly trying to avoid stepping on other souls' toes. Pulling her hood up over her head....muttering to herself, 'this movie is predictable anyways' she strikes out for a quiet space to sit, ending up near the edge of a forest. Sitting near the quiet trees she notes the creeping in of the fog and the change in the feel of the woods. She notes the time and place of the occurrance and her fingertips on her left hand glow ever so sligthly. Arwen GalenTechnomage House Galahad Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. (i'm really sorry guys. I blame real life. I'm just gonna go straight to the ending, full tilt, and then we can start real conversation. Really sorry again - especially to linda, who complained the loudest, and especially to everyone else, who didn't complain at all (though honestly, complaining makes me move more))
The movie continues. Having captured their first ghost, the movie does a classic 80's montage, scenes of the amazing popularity the Ghostbusters have gotten. Then they show the working man of the group hired, Winston, and the explanation for the Containment Field (which Ray loves and tries to memorize in the moments that the movie is playing). The EPA arrives to asses "environmental hazzards" and whatnot, and despite the weird phrasing (which seems to remind Ray that this isn't actually "real life" but a description of his universe, played by actors), the EPA guy gets insulted and runs off. There is a discussion on the PsycoKinetic Energy in the city, and talk of a four-fold crossrip (whatever that is). That's a big twinkie.
So, skipping ahead (through the boring parts), Dana and Lewis get captured or something by big-ass demon dogs, and Peter talks at the obviously possessed Dana without apparently listening to a thing. Lewis is picked up by the police, and brought to the HQ, where he's determined to be "not human." Pete sedates Dana (300cc's of thorzine? Isn't that a bit MUCH?) and Lewis seems pretty harmless (though he's spouting quite a bit about Zuul). Getting the Keymaster and the Gatekeeper together might be bad, though.
The EPA shows up again, manages to do something governmental and stupid, blows up the building, and in the confusion Lewis follows the giagantic stream of magic to Dana's apartment, where they "perform a ritual" and then head onto the roof. The Ghostbusters, of course, get locked up (Peter never studied, but Ray is glad to see that he has a lot of knowledge in this universe), and only manage to get out after talking to the Mayor (admittedly, Peter has his moments - not many people could insult the EPA in quite that spectacular a fashion). And the ghostbusters get . . . well, it looks like the 14th Rainbow Division. Not bad, really - that'll keep the people aspect under control while they fight Gozer (assuming Gozer is even there. Hopefully they'll just have to fight his minions).
They arrive. there's a very tense moment involving concrete movement, but they escape. And on the cheers of the huge crowd behind them, head up. Up the stairs. It figures that the electricity would be out - most of the street is rubble, anyway. (For the first time, Ray is glad he doesnt remember something - the walk up.) So they get to the apartment, head up the stairs (mysterious sudden appearance of those). And watch Dana and Lewis transform into dogs and sit on pedistals.
The dimentional door opens. Gozer emerges. (S)he walks up and pets a dog, which preens under her touch. Ray makes a very formal speech (which Nexus Ray isn't surprised to hear in the least, somehow), and Gozer turns and asks him if he's a god. Which he's not. And so the huge burst of electric magic that comes flying at all of them probably should have been expected. (Winston's line to Ray is all too familiar - Nexus Ray heard it from some Rennaisance earlier. He fishes for the business card while continuing to watch).
And so they get up, and fire (not much else to do, Ray supposes. Maybe they rely on the packs too much - the packs were meant for low-level entities...). And miss. And then Gozer goes all shimmery and disapears. Neutronized. ("That was kinda anti-climactic" thinks Nexus Ray). And of course that's not the end. Because now the building starts crumbling a bit, and Gozer speaks without a body - Choose a destructor. And very, very quickly, Nexus Ray is embarassed for his counterpart. Very. very embarassed.
It's the Say-Puft Marshmallow Man.
A hundred feet tall, huge, and pure.... puffed sugar. Angry puffed sugar, too. Nexus Ray stares in awe as the Ray on the screne goes bye-bye. And the plan they come up with - my god, are they kidding? "A very good chance we'll survive." Oh, wow, This is. .. . wow. Oh man.
They cross the streams. The door reverses. the entire top of the building blows sky-high, destroying everything.
And then, there's quiet. Steaming marshmallow, a sense of burning somewhere. And. . . yes, they're alive! Wow!
The dogs, thoguh... burnt. Ray makes a rude comment (but he appologizes) and then... Dana is alive! and lewis! And they head downstairs in victory, to the cheers of the whole city!
The credits begin to roll, while everyone waves or coughs or talks or cheers or whatever, and a cool song begins to play.
Ray continues to stare at the screen, in happy awe.

Eli leans over the back of the seat and explains to Fox, "It's a metaphor for nuclear power. The marshmellow represents some sort of physical cloud of energy, while the people with the ghost pack stuff represent people with nuclear power strapped on their back."
He takes a bit of his caramel bar and chews thoughtfully.

Zero watches the whole thing in fascination -- at least, any scene with any remotely pseudo-scientific material. She nods intently at the various usages of the trap, power packs, PKE meter, etc. When they're about to cross the streams, she visibly cringes, almost to the point of looking like she's taking cover under the chair in front of her. When it works, she looks momentarily stunned, then sighs, nods, and mutters one word -- "Cleedot" -- and makes some kind of adjustment on the little card she's been holding up throughout the movie. As the screen fills with useless text (aka the credits), she fiddles with the card, glancing up frequently to see if something more interesting crosses the screen. Once it's done, she slips the card in a pocket, and turns to Ray. "Interesting experiment. Thank you for sharing the documentation. Is this the device that was used?" She reaches toward Ray's power pack. `_100003005030 House Renaissance [OOC: Sorry about the noodging. By the way, I haven't seen this in a few millennia -- what DOES Winston say to Ray, and what Ren said it to Nexus Ray?] Linda

In the back row jon Stone claps while the credits roll. He then stands and walks over to Ray.
"So Ray i hope that helped you get a better handle on things. i gotta say i never get tired of watching that movie." he then picks up the proton pack and looks it over, "Untill you showed up i was thinking about building one of these, and one of the trap, though i'de have to modify both to work on Avatars and not ghosts."
He then holds it alittle in Zero's direction and says, "Yeah this looks like real proton pack. But i think the power cell is dead." He indicates to how all of the fancy super-science, blinking lights are dark."
He puts the pack back on the ground. "So have you been thinking about what house to join?"

"House? Oh yes, as a scientist, you really should consider House Renaissance. Your area of research is not, I believe, currently represented in our House. Plus, of course, we can help you get this working again."
She examines the device closely, nodding enthusiastically at the design. "Hmm, I wonder if adding a Quantum component ..."

"Oh well," Eli says to, in theory, Fox. "I'm going to head off now. Maybe read some of my uncle's nuclear physics books."
"Take care."
Eli freezes in place, and a series of numbers counts down over his head, starting from 60.

(The line was "If someone asks you if you're a god.... you say YES!" and given how many rennaisance there are in the Nexus at current, i'll let you figure it out :-p )
Turning to look at Zero and John, he misses Eli's exit - which is probably fortionate for Ray. "Yeah, this thing. Proton pack. Wow, this is cool. I have no idea how it works, but the power inside is amazing! Though it's a little more than 'documentation,' it's my universe. At least, I think it is. Based on the outfit. I'm told amnesia is common around here, but will eventually go away. I was trying to help the process, but I don't think it worked. Well, at least I know most of the theory behind the science, even if I can't remember building this baby. No house yet, I'm afraid, John. Though I must say that Octagon and Rennaisance are looking mighty interesting." Ray offers Zero the proton pack (which is rather heavy) to examine. He's rather careless with it, actually - the power cells are dead, and anyway, the movie showed them getting tossed around a bit. "But what IS my 'area of research?', miss...uh, Zero? Hey, wait, quantum? Tell me you're kidding. Quantum? Like, light-speed computers and teleporting and stuff?"

Zero takes it, struggling with the weight for a moment, and sets it down to study. "Well, based on the docu ... -- on that recording, I would assume your field includes the study and manipulation of ectoplasmic lifeforms -- or perhaps post-lifeforms would be more accurate. Although there are obviously other areas of interest as well," she adds, indicating the device.
She grins. "And I'm afraid the version of Quantum Energy you'll find here may be somewhat different than the one you're familiar with; but then that's true of most things. Everything here is really pure energy, shaped in some way by our own expectations and desires. That energy takes several more specific forms, of which Quantum is one. The most powerful and least predictable one, other than ... welll, there are some forces best left alone."
Zero suddenly notices, with some alarm, the numbers floating over Eli's head. "That's a very long progression! We should leave ... now! Although you should be fine, but still ... Come with me, quickly!"
Zero, lugging the quite heavy proton pack, starts running, fairly quickly for a tubby woman, when she briefly gets a "D'oh!" expression -- then jumps up and flies off (no wings -- just flies, while still in a vertical position) at top speed. She stops just before disappearing from view, to beckon the others -- then speeds out of sight.

Ray is utterly baffled, but grabs up his proton pack with a grunt, and chases after the woman as best he can.
