Hey there Game Lovers:

After the Spring Gathering and Dexcon 9, and seeing Vinny in his Saks Fifth Avenue
wardrobe, and others wearing really strange slippers, I'm going to send in some
proposals for board games at Southern Exposure.  I'm with two groups in New York
City that meet regularly for Board Games, but this will be my first formal time of
being a GM at a Con.  So take care, and let the dice roll where they may.

Is there a way to get to Southern Exposure, from NYC, by public transportation?

Yes there is a way to get  to SE III from NYC by Public transportation. Barb used to do it before we were married.
I will see if she can post that information.
I know you need to take a bus or train into Philly then a local bus from Philly to Cherry Hill NJ

I just got something in the mail that states for public transit info, call the Clarion Cherry Hill
directly at (856) 428-2300.  I'm in the same situation as Jonathan, needing to get to S.E.
from NYC.  At least with the East Brunswick Hilton, there's a bus out of Port Authority
that goes directly there.  If I have to take Tiny's advice and go to Philly, that's fine, but
I'm going to check with Port Authority to see if there's a bus from there first.

There are buses from Port Authority to Philadelphia once an hour every hour on the Thursday and then when you get to Philly you have to go to the NJ transit bus stop at Market St. & 9TH St that takes you to Cherry Hill.

Standard is $21.00 but the buy more than 3 days in advance ticket is $18.00 for the bus to Philly and travel time is roughly 2 hours(that is one way folks!).

The bus fare is about $3.00 one way.The bus number is 406 but you should double check the NJ transit windows at the back of Port Authority where you can buy your tickets in advance.

OR

You can take the NJ train at Penn Station to Cherry Hill (haven't tried it myself) and take a cab to the hotel.

Hope that helps!

I went to the New Jersey Transit site (njtransit.com) and attempted to find a way to the Cherry Hill station.  I did this using both Penn Station and Secaucus Junction as departure points.

The site was explicit.  It can't be done.  Perhaps I missed something?

:( I checked at Port Authority today (9/2/06) and the lady at the info booth said there were no buses
to Cherry Hill out of the P.A. terminal.  Looks like anyone from NYC will have  to take Tiny's suggestion
and go to Philly and get a bus to Cherry Hill from there.  An unrelated point, I'm still waiting to hear
about the games I proposed for SE.  I know they've got be working on a list about now.

Mike,

The games you submitted are difficult, because we have to see how they fit in with the rest of the board gaming schedule., Things like Facts in Five rarely have an audience at any convention smaller than DEXCON.
