It could work.
Years ago, when I wasnt quite the nice cuddly guy I am now, my friends and I had a treehouse. (three rooms, two floors and a balcony) In this treehouse was a "spud gun". Same theory as "compressed air launcher" above, only used butane and a spark inside some PVC pipe behind a potato.
Nine times out of ten, the safest place to be was where ever this thing was aimed.
Of course, the tenth time, when we figured we'd just scare the deer....um, well,  lets just say that hard freezing and the proper propulsion (perhaps mentos and diet coke?) could just do the trick.

Andromache turns to her potential guests and grins. "I'm not one-hundred percent what we're having for dinner gentlemen, but there will apparantly be cookies for desert after lunch. What do you say? Would do me the great honor of being my guests?"

A paper airplane, of general 'dart' configuration, becomes noticeable several feet away at head height, on course to land at Andromache's feet.  If unmolested, it will land a few inches in front of her.

Blompkin patted his pockets and did a quick inventory, just to be sure. 13 silver, a half-eaten worg sandwich, a note to remind him to 'get more arrows' which was slowly disintigrating over time, a second note that read 'it's on your head', a small mirror, a piece of chalk, 50 inches of rope, and what appeared to be a power.

"A POWER!!!

No...wait...false alarm. It's the other half of the sandwich.

Oh, and I'd love to accompany you back to your kingdom, Andromache. I've never dined with royalty before...and of course probably never will, because we're going back to your humble peasant cottage."

Andromache could not help but beam at Blompkin, but she smiled at all assembled. "Excellent! And I promise you we can get into a full explanation of missing powers and all the myriad ofther questions you must have as soon as we are all sitting down and properly refreshed in my humble peasant cottage." She winks at Blompkin.

"As for the journey, you may be comforted to know that getting to Xenia is as simple as making up you minds that you want to be there and letting the Domain do the rest." Realizing this may be a difficult task for the newest avatars of the group, she ammends that course of action. "... For this first trip, perhaps we should take a more literal approach just to be certain we all end up on the same part of the island." Andromache quickly brushes cookie crumbs off Kays hands; and, this done, Kay and Thea each hold out a hand to someone in the assembled group.

With a flick of her wrist, a flash of silver light springs from Andromache's fingers and a silver spark cuts an archway into the air before them. The archway reveals a slice of sun-dappled landscape beyond a sheet of falling water which parts like a pair of window curtains as Andromache steps forward. She turns to her new guests with a smile. "Everybody ready?"

It is a paper airplane.  The paper it was folded from has writing on it.  (See PM)

Observing the writing on the paper, Andromache glances up at her guests. "Excuse me just one moment please."

She unfolds the airplane and reads its surface, raising an eyebrow with a grin. 

Andromache pulls a small silver rod from a hidden pocket of her flowing white dress. Pressing her finger on a smooth oval on the object, the rod smoothly doubles itself in length. It hovers in the air before her and expands, unrolling to reveal a scroll of shimmering silver material. It unfurls until it is perfectly flat and rigid. The core of the scroll remains at the top and opens to release a slim silver pen.

The babies coo, apparently appreciative of the effect, but not particularly suprised by it.

Taking the pen, Andromache places the letter face down on the suspended platform and quickly writes something on the back. Refolding the plane, she sends it aloft once more, and replacing the pen on the silver tablet, taps the end of the core and allows the scroll to retract completely. Catching it from the air and slipping it back into the same hidden pocket, she returns her attentions to her guests.

Andromache makes  a casual gesture of her head towards the archway. "Shall we?"

Fox turns back to his ship and presses a buttion on his cuff and the canopy closes and seals itself and the small lattor folds up into the hull.  fox turns to follow

(Sorry, I had trouble replying.  The first time I replied, it didn't post and I didn't realize it.  This is my fourth try.  Let's see if it works ^_^)

Blompkin stared off at Fox's ship, completely amazed, mesmerized and bedazzled by the cuff with the button on it.  The ship was nice too, but the concept alone of a button on a cuff that actually does stuff...well, it just simply blew his mind.

It was just then that Blompkin realized that the queen had asked him something while he wasn't paying attention.

Oh no!  What an embarassment!  What would he do?! 

Blompkin decided to give a very general response that 'most likely' answered her question well enough.

"I agree!  If I wear my clothes inside-out, leading the king of the goblins to believe I'm a yarn elemental, then he'll trust me enough to accept my gift of an orange, which I will squeeze in his face, blinding him with the juice, giving me the opportunity to grab the kid, break the window, and leap out to freedom!"

Whew!  That was close!  That could have been embarassing!

"So let us go forth!  Every great quest begins with a single meal, so..."

Blompin leapt up onto the nose of Fox's ship, pointed in a random direction that was nowhere near Xenia, and proclaimed:

"ONWARD!"

"Onward indeed," Andromache winks to her enthusiastic guest. Gesturing towards the door ahead of her with an extended arm the allows Kay and Thea to lead the new friends through the archway and it's parted curtain of water.

Okay, since there were RL stalls in the progress of the thread and many of the Dinner Guests were not able to attend the last gathering, the Dinner has yet to happen. Since nothing irreprable to the timeline has occurred yet here and some people who were at the gathering did very little RP, I strongly suggest that we pluck this entire storyline up and move it in time to AC (After Convertorama). We can continue as if it just began when many of us who were at the Gathering returned from the Gathering hotel or else we can just play the old "time ripples funny in the nexus sometimes" card.

Eitherway, I'd like to pick things up again from here and commence with the thread. If we have a majority concensus, then I'll happily start the new Xenian Dinner Party thread.
