Standing Circuit
« on: August 18, 2005, 06:57:20 PM »

The place is the same as always, at least the same as it has been the numerous times she has taken the walk to the place.  Her conversation with Bron Price still fresh in her mind, as also the various promises made to those she has allied with.

She finds herself at the arches of Standing Circuit, then says in an even tone, "Torque? Is anyone here? I've come as I said to learn from the Amber Code."

and she sits down near the Quantum arch and with a silent order, the little red bird constantlt fitting about her head takes off.

(OOC - she has asked Ikki to look for any of the Amber Code nearby)

In the end, we are judged by actions, not words.

Hotwire is at the door.

"Hey Lugosi Lady.  I heard that house-shifting epidemic got you too.  Thanks for helping out with the Torque situation."

Greetings,

I am here to learn what I can about this device, and the Amber Code.  I will be honest, many in the Nexus fear you and it.  I wish to learn, to understand.  Will you be so kind as to aid me in this?

she replied with a bow.

"Not up to me, I'm not very high on the pole.  Let me check with the bosses."

Hotwire gets on his radio.

"Hey Mangle, we got the redhead from Lugosi out here.  She wants to learn about the Circuit, cause, um, people are afraid of us."

The radio responds in a gruff voice:

"Ah, she's okay, send her in."

The door mechanism clicks and grinds a bit then the vaultlike door opens.

EDIT: Just noticed the misspelling of Circuit in the subject line, fixing it so future searches can find these posts.  Oh, and Diane, the arches are all inside the building, so you haven't gotten to them yet.  Here's the floor plan: http://www.geocities.com/househelvetia/circuit.html

::About 20 minutes after Dean leaves the Cafe, Dean walks towards the doors of the Standing Circuit.  He gets to the door, and looks for Hotwire, or whoever might be at the door::

"Hello, anyone here?"

::Dean will wait patiently until someone makes contact with him::

"Um, yeah, I'm right in front of you."  Hotwire waves in Dr. Dean's face.

"Looking for the Lugosi Councilor?  She just went in."

::Dean bows to Hotwire and heads into the circuit then.  He looks around, and nods a greeting to any of the Amber Code.  He finds Aiskon and walks up to her::

"Hello Aiskon, I believe you had wanted to see me regarding something here at the Circuit? How can I be of assistance?"

"Dr. Dean," she starts ans smiles, "What we were discussing in the past is that your unique take on energy systems, specifically those of a quantum nature, would be instrumental in keeping any experiments I, and the Amber Code wish to do.  I beleive the system here may be of interest to you as well.  If there are 2 of us here as guest, the others are less likely to get so paranoide."

She turns to the rep of the Amber Code and says, "We had discussed Dr. Dean's possibvle assistance before.  I believe he could be quite helpful in most situations."

Mangle finishes something at the blue section of the control panel and the Circuit seems at ready/rest.

"Well yeah, as one of the builders he should have some clues, right?  Or do ya remember anything about it, Doc?"

"Truth be told, I'm not sure what I remember will be any good.  In the world where Eddie Dean was one of the builders I was the Fusion Commander.  Here in the Nexus, I have a grasp of Fusion energy, I can manipulate it with relative ease, but beyond that, it's nowhere near my specialty."

::Dean walks to the Fusion Arch and looks at all the devices that are attached to it and walks all around the arch::

"I have memories of when I journeyed into that world's Eddie Dean, no question of that.  I also remember that most of the Scientists involvied in the project were really only familiar with the details of their arch.  The only two who really knew all the details of how this place worked were Tesla and Gardiner.  They were the ultimate architects.

::Dean returns to Mangle and Aiskon::

I suppose I could be of some help regardless.  For all intents and purposes I created the Fusion Arch, even if it was a different Dean, on a different world.  I am certainly willing to see what knowledge I can pull up out of my brain if you feel it will be useful.

::Dean looks over at the Quantum Arch for a moment::

Naturally, I am of course willing to perform any experiments you would wish involving the Quantum arch as well.  The question is now, what exactly can I do to be of assistance, and what exactly are our goals here?"

"Oh, so you one of them Alternates we hear about?  Too bad."

Mangle turns to some other Codites: "Check with Torque if we can bring some visitors to New Laechar.  Aiskon of Lugosi and the Doc from Fleming."

"So let me see if I unnerstand this, you guys want to learn how to run the Circuit, and our motivation is supposed to be that people ain't gonna be so afraid of us if we teach ya?"

"My dear, I would hope that not be your only motivation.  I was hoping the sharing of knowledge, as scientists, would be of interest to you.  I have seen the power of the device, and want to know more about it, not just how to use it.  'A' Dr. Dean helped build it.  Do we know why it was built in the first place? Where it was built - as in what arc of worlds?  What purpose it has here?    These are all questions I personally have.  I know you know more about how it works and some of its history.

My purpose is to increase my understanding of the nature of energy in all its forms.  Here in the Nexus there are 5 'types' of power, as well as 5 kinds of energy.  back at octogon headquarters they are working on combining the different kinds of energy, specifically the 5 tech energies with the gothic type.

Just the ability to discuss with the members of the Amber Code the origins of the multiverse and the power needed to create and sustain it would make me glad.

I see the ability here to design and test so many theories.

She stops, smiles, and turned to Dean, 'Sorry.  I've been stuck dealing with the politic of intrahouse problems.  I don't get to test my ideas enough."

"Admittedly I too am interested in some more of the history of this place.  I have memories of the Dean that I journeyed into, but they don't give me a complete picture to work with.  My sheer curiosity drives me to always want to know more, never could help that.

Now it's true there are Avatars who do view the Code with some degree of fear, and I would like to allieviate that for them as well. Understanding a bit more about your ways and the Circuit could very well help that.

But for the most part, this is Aiskon's project, and I am mearly here to help, observe, and assist where I can.  I look forward to any sort of discussion we might be able to have here, and the possibility of future collaborations is very intriguing."

"Ah.  Okay.  Well here's the thing see?  We didn't try to hard to, what's that word Spike likes?  Proactively!  Yeah, we didn't try to proactively make people afraid, a lot of that they just decided to feel that way themselfs.  But see, we don't think it's such a bad thing, so's ... uh... we ain't really looking to change that."

Mangle looks back to one of the other Codites, who  responds to his unasked question with "No answer from Torque yet."
