Living on a bomb and a prayer

As many know, I work at a homeless shelter in Atlantic City. Today while I was letting someone, who was very high on drugs, out of the mission, he decided it would be a good idea to use a concealed 3" razor blade and punch me in my face with it. Luckily he missed my neck and simply sliced my jaw open from my chin back to my ear and ripped my ear almost in half. I fought him off and he eventually escaped me and ran down the steet leaving his shirt and bandana behind in my hands. I then noticed I was bleeding. I lost alot of blood before I finally got to the hospital. Over 100 stitches later (he could not count them all) I finally went home. BTW they caught the guy with attack dogs. I get my stitches out about a week before Convert-O-Rama, but it will still be nasty. I just wanted to warn people ahead of time.

Thats rough. Someone must've been looking out for you that he didn't hit anything vital.

I'm so sorry you're going through that. Thanks for the heads up, that would indeed have been a shock if unprepared.
Yet more senseless violence. And yet another spectacular example that no good deed goes unpunished.

Feel better soon and someone get that man some aloe plant!! (you apply it to the skin - unless you are allergic to it - and it cuts down on scarring)

Barb's right, I recommend it highly. Lily of the Desert makes good Aloe Gel and Gelly, you should be able to find it in any health food and Vitamin shop. It's almost 100 percent Aloe, as opposed to most other products.
I never heard of anyone being allergic to it though.

Oh man! Mark, I'm glad the sucker's aim was bad. My prayers are with you. And what they said re: aloe vera, absolutely. Linda P.S.: I did know someone who was allergic to it though. Sadly, she was selling aloe vera products to help pay for school when she found out. (No biggie, just made her break out.)

Hi Mark,
You, will be in the thoughts and prayers of your friends. Its sounds scary, Thanks for the heads up. If there is anything that someone can do to give you a hand let it be known, and with this group it should happen.
See you in 2 weeks.
