Another set at Sanctuary
« on: September 01, 2006, 07:35:04 AM »

At Sanctuary, literally out of the sky, from the genereal position of the Ribbon, music begins playing.  It is hard and heavy power metal, and goes something like this:

Take a look at me
So cold and all alone
I drift around in circles
And I can't reach the sun

You saints and sinners
Your peace and war
I drift alone in silence
'Cause I can't reach the sun

It's all I long for
The heat of the sun
It's all I long for
What I'm wishing for is the blessing of the sun

Just open up and see
Forget what you've been told
I'm existing hopelessly
'Cause I can't reach the sun

Darkness covers me
My soul has yet to long
I'm looking for serenity
'Cause I can't reach the sun

It's all I long for
The heat of the sun
It's all I long for
What I'm wishing for is the blessing of the sun

Save me from these endless days
Release me here and now
'Cause I can't reach the sun
Save me from these endless days
Release me here and now
'Cause I can't reach the sun

Here I am
Still the same
Round and round
Every day
Fighting hard now
I must push on
Feed the challenge
But even if I miss
I'll land among the stars

Take another look
At yourself what do you see?
You drift alone in circles
And you can't reach the sun
And you a prisoner
Of an endless war
Or trapped in sadness
You can't reach the sun

It's all I long for
The heat of the sun
It's all I long for
What I'm wishing for is the blessing of the sun
It's all I long for
The heat of the sun
It's all I long for
What I'm wishing for is the blessing of the sun
What I'm wishing for is the blessing of the sun

Save me from these endless days
Release me here and now
'Cause I can't reach the sun
Save me from these endless days
Release me here and now
'Cause I can't reach the sun

The song finishes, and then as if in reply a female voice picks up with a pop-folk sound.  During this number, the Dreadwraith on duty looks up to the ribbon and grins broadly.  It's "foot" is tapping.

Her face is a map of the world
Is a map of the world
You can see she's a beautiful girl
She's a beautiful girl
And everything around her is a silver pool of light
The people who surround her feel the benefit of it
It makes you calm
She holds you captivated in her palm

Suddenly I see
This is what I wanna be
Suddenly I see
Why the hell it means so much to me

I feel like walking the world
Like walking the world
You can hear she's a beautiful girl
She's a beautiful girl
She fills up every corner like she's born in black and white
Makes you feel warmer when you're trying to remember
What you heard
She likes to leave you hanging on a wire

Suddenly I see

And she's taller than most
And she's looking at me
I can see her eyes looking from a page in a magazine
Oh she makes me feel like I could be a tower
A big strong tower
She got the power to be
The power to give
The power to see

Suddenly I see

(Thanks to Demons & Wizards for the first number, "Lunar Lament", from "Touched by the Crimson King", disc 2.  Second number credits go to Ms. KT Tunstall, for "Suddenly I See", form "Eye to the Telescope.")
