wish list for Dex 10
« on: November 02, 2006, 10:58:44 AM »

I think, above all else, I have one TRULY momentous wish for Dex 10:

to get the guys with the 6-foot Star Destroyer back (or maybe a Lego-sized substitute).  just to see THAT being wheeled down the hall would be enough....

what is the ONE thing you would love to see for Double Exposure to (somehow) do that would make you say "they went ALL OUT for that!" for Dexcon 10?

(shoot me later, I'm being slightly nostalgic. :p )

One of the things I'd love for DEX10 is to have Heroclix on the Arena battlefield. But I don't think we've got the people or the resources to do it. Although Pirates on the Arena could work I think.

Tiny, any thoughts?

Strobe lights for DDR and a free lighter to everyone in the audience for Guitar Hero.

Either that or a Sugarfest Pixy Stix mountain 10x the size of the ones now. If that's even possible to fit that many PS in that room, let alone a table.

Walter and Tiny, we never got around to finishing up that SUPER SECRET HEROCLIX PROJECT of ours. You know, the one that absolutely doesn't invove that giant figure of mine, and that base that I super mega ultra glued it to, and the stats that we were going to work on.

We need to finish that.... hopefully before DEX-X

I like that. DEX-X...

Changing Topics from the Snarkfest... any inlinations for maybe an homegrown Film Fest?

Or what about maybe an info panel or 2 about creating games, running your own games, writing your own system and getting it to print.

How about a Podcasting Panel?

Just a few things off the top of my tentacle....

I have taken all of the posts having to do with Avatar complaints from this thread and have moved them here:

http://www.dexposure2.com/forum//index.php?topic=1785.0

Please continue this conversation there since it has NO business in a positive thread about DEXCON 10.

This thread was created for the purposes of
a) Creating a thread to generate excitement for the biggest convention we have EVER done
b) Getting honest HELPFUL feedback from the wonderful people who come to our conventions

If there are any questions, please PM me.

I still totally want to see someone do Dance Dance Tekken or Marvel vs the Revolution...

Mod 2 pairs of DDR pads to 2 standard controllers so that two teams can DDR fight each other: one person has directional control, the other the combat control.  Just think of the coordination that would require...  And jumping up in down in frustration when you're being losing to an 8 year old and his little sister might actually help  ;D

I'd do it myself if I could afford several DDR pads and controllers to mod... and had time to do it... :P

*edit - or do one DDR pad and one guitar controller and have the "Completely Crazy Controller Championship" and use the promo tag "C4 will make you explode" and nobody will have any idea what it is till they see it and go "yes, you were correct" and will subsequently explode.

Totally awesome  ::)

Actually, you don't need to mod anything. The diagonals on all DDR pads are the X, Square, Triangle, and Circle buttons. And you already have the < V ^ > and the Start Select buttons. It should work automatically, no modding required.

I think he meant modding it such that the diagonal/directional buttons for one controller are bound to one pad, and the rest to another - two pads for one controller.

This sounds like fun. I have old pads I may be willing to donate to this project ;-)

Alternately, we could play Mosh Mosh Revolution!

might work better with a less combo oriented game, like Virtua Fighter
