Heroclix Previews
« on: August 24, 2005, 03:10:46 PM »

So, in anticipation of the September 7 release of DC Heroclix Icons, I was just wondering what some other people's opinions are on the previews that they've been putting up on the WizKids site. This is of course, providing that there are other Heroclix players on this board besides me and Tiny.

Plus, I figure that this thread can continue to be used to discuss future Heroclix releases, such as Marvel Armor Wars later in the year. Being a DC Heroclix fan, though, of course I'll start it when a DC set is coming out  :P

So currently on the WizKids site, they have the stats and sculpts for a good amount of what will be in the new set.

Starter Set
Batman, Robin, Hawkgirl, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Man-Bat

REVs
Scarecrow, Robin, Starfire, Aquaman, Raven, Bizarro, The Joker, Batman, Darkseid

Uniques
Braniac, Lex Luthor, Terra

LEs
Dr. Jonothan Crane, Tim Drake, Princess Koriand'r, Dark Knight Detective, Batman (Promo), Professor Zoom

Battlefield Conditions
Infiltration, Madness, Internal Strife, Rally, Ordinary Day

Feats
Submerged, Slippery, Divebomb, Sidekick, Swingline

They still have 5 more REVs, 3 more Uniques and LEs, 1 more Battlefield Condition, 3 more Feats, and all of the Bystander Tokens to release. Next week will be the last official preview, which means the rest of the figures will probably just be thrown on the site pretty soon. Anyone got any opinions on this new stuff? Get the discussion rolling.

Quick update

They have now posted the sculpts and stats for two more Uniques in DC Icons: Ra's al-Ghul and the Flash.

Also, I didn't mention before but there is one figure currently posted for the Marvel Armor Wars expansion, and that is the Limited Edition figure only available to people who participate in the New Guy Night that will be started at the same time as the expansion. The figure is Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman, and it represents her when she was brainwashed by Hydra.

Go check 'em out if you haven't already.

I dunno about that Tiny, there are some good figures, and some really good feats, but still...

I'm not sure if there really is an easy way to beat Galactus. Just pick the best figures you can and hope for good die rolls.

When I speak of defeating Galactus and Armor Wars, I am specifically referring to the battlefield condition card of the same name. It has been explained that this condition will cause an extra click of damage to any fig that has any damage reduction power. On top of that, the Battlefield condition: Armor Wars stacks. So if 2 people are playing it it will cause 2 extra points of damage.

Now do you understand what I mean???

With the recent release of Armor Wars, the next big anticipation is for DC Heroclix: Collateral Damage. Just as AW introduced some really special promotions, CD is looking to do the same. It will continue the special LEs for buying by the brick and coming to new guy night, but there's also something new. When you buy the brick and mail away for the special Krypto figure (!!!), you will be registered in the new Heroclix Collector's Club, and get first dibs on something new called Collectors Sets, which will feature predetermined figures in a common theme. The first such set will be called DC: Giants, and will have Giant figures in the veign of the Steel from Legacy. In my opinion it's about time DC gets caught up since Marvel has so many giants from Fantastic Forces.

We can't let this take away from the anticipation for Collateral Damage itself, however. This set will finally see characters that players have wanted for quite a while. Kyle Raynor finally makes an appearance in Heroclix, as does Kalibak, Darkseid's errant son. They've also announced the two special LEs. As previously stated, the brick LE will be Krypto, the super dog; while the new guy night LE is going to be a special edition of Superman, from the Hush storyline, 211 points with the Batman ally team ability. You can find the stats for the Superman on the Wizkids site. Currently no other figures have been released on their site yet.

When they start releasing more figures for CD, I will try to keep  up with it much better than I did for AW. After all, I am more of a DC enthusiast when it comes to heroclix.
