Quote
Scholastic Children's Books, the U.S. publisher, said it would offer a hardback edition at a suggested retail price of $34.99, a deluxe edition at $65.00 and a reinforced library edition at $39.99

ok, Book six retailed for $25.  I do NOT know how much I'll be charging.  but I will have a clue closer to Dexcon.

Ah, the possible solution - so you go to the midnight party, then return with the books?   Or is it a Saturday morning run?

I am in the minority because I go home every day from the con due to my high pet population, and sometimes for lunch and/or dinner.  If I want to hit the Starbucks drive-through in the morning, I'm next to Borders (it's behind the Boston Market on 18N).

To sum up my thought, someone couldn't just leave Dexcon at 11:30pm Friday, grab their book at Borders, and be back at the con to get into a midnight game.   There's also dubious thoughts about Saturday morning because you now have the book, start reading and then get trapped into reading it till the end, without being able to put it down.   Saturday afternoon's in jeopardy for slower readers, or if it's 500+ pages.

it's a saturday morning run.  going friday night to borders where EVERYONE will be will not be worth it, as you can only pre-order 5 copies. I sold TWELVE for book 6, and had no problem getting my hands on the # of copies I wanted.

I will not change my plans, as they were successful last time.  if someone wants to go friday night, they are more than welcome.  they do not have to use me as a delivery man.

edit: missed word.

For the record, it will be $18.89 (plus tax) from Barnes and Noble, for discount members. I can also safely say that we will be open Friday night/Sat morning, and there is no limit to number of preorders. This is also the reason why I'll be missing a signifigant chunk of Dexcon, as I'll probably be working a register most of the weekend, instead of my usual newsstand duties.

And I was really hoping to join up for Board Games staff.... Oh well, there's always Dreamation 2K8...

Hi Steve,

I am making this announcement here in hopes that it will put a smile on your face.
The Rutgers' Bookstore is coming out to DEXCON-10
on Saturday and Sunday

to sell the new
"Harry Potter" book.
They will be located near the back of the dealer's room.
Where most book stores will be sold out DEXCON-10 will have a good supply.
