And I was just talking to my dad the other day, no later than last weekend, about how I had seen him on the latest iteration of "I love the 80's".  And I had commented on how good he looked.  Bummer.

I remember meeting him at a science conference in Detroit in the middle 70s and he was such fun to be around.

He will be missed by all us closet math and science geeks.

Why not, in honor of Mr. Herbert, come out of the shadows and join the light of geekdom's perpetual motion machine?  Ramble on oh geeks, and bring balance to all sides of the equation, and lead us to the glorious Theory of Everything Made Simple!
