[Proper] Picnic
« on: October 22, 2007, 10:19:04 AM »

Out in the swirl of nexus proper a figure leisurely strolls through the mist.  The elf pauses looking around a particular patch of proper she nods slightly to herself, and set down a wicker basked she was carrying.

With a flick of her hands, a blanket settled neatly on the ground, and she then begins to pull items out of the basket, setting up a picnic.

“Green” AElfgifu calls out in to the nothingness “I have a spot of tea to share if you aren’t to busy.”

Out of the nothingness a red velvet chair pops into existence. There is a pause before the Manifestation sometimes known as The Girl-in-Green pops in upside-down.  Her hair is pulled up in pigtails that trail onto the ground. She giggles.

"Tea would be lovely." She smiles up at the Lightfoot before spinning herself around so that she's sitting like a normal Manifestation, if such a thing exists. She fluffs her pigtails.

AElf smiles at Green  “Pigtails are a new look for you aren’t they?” she inquires while pour out two cups of tea from a thermos.  Handing a cup to the Manifestation along with a small tray holding the containers for sugar and cream the elf retrieved her own cup and settled back on a large green velvet pillow  “How have you been Green?”

"Pigtails aren't a new look." Green smiles and takes the pro-offered tea, adding an ungodly amount of sugar to it. Just when you thought that the cup couldn't possibly take anymore, it somehow does.

"I've been well. There was an influx of new avatars at the recent Gathering, and I've been helping them where I can. You know, general me stuff. How have you been?"

“I do not remember you with pigtails” Aelf states as she takes a sip from her drink “But then that seems to be the way of things.” The elf gives a small ironic smile “For losing a rather long gap of time, by mortal standards, and trying to figure out what I have missed in my absence not to bad I suppose, with all things considering.”

Green nods, her pig tails bopping around her face. "Is there anything I can do for you?" She pauses and sips her tea. "I assume that this isn't a social call."

“Actually Green, it is.” The lightfoot sets her cup down and reaches into the basket to bring out a plate of assorted home baked cookies ranging from the coveted chocolate chip to peanut butter, to molasses with several other kinds for good measure.

“I would think it be awful rude to be ‘demanding’ things when I am so recently returned. Besides…” she pauses holding out the plate to Green “I miss talking with you.”

Green blinks and takes a cookie. "Tea and cookies without an ulterior motive? Are you SURE you’re still an avatar?"

AElfgifu sighs, as if slightly hurt by the words and then smiles wirily  “Since when have I ever being the ‘normal’ avatar Green?   I am one of the oldest in the Nexus, technically even older then Lovious, and Bron, and yet I am one of the least powerful beings here.  You know I have never been one to play the power game and all the intrigue that entails.  I just like trying to help people, not that I am very good at it, but I try.”

The lightfoot selects her own cookie and sets the plate down between them.  “I just thought you might want to share a quiet moment and talk to someone. Maybe share your view on how the nexus has changed since I’ve been gone or just Girl talk. Your choice.”

"Oh, don't get your eyelashes in a twist."  Green blinks a violent shade of ocre plaid, and the pigtails disappear.  She's now in the tattered venetian fencing academy rags she has been sporting off-and-on for too-many cycles now.  "You know I wasn't firing shots at you."

She chomps into her cookie, pauses, stares at it and shakes her head.  "How things have changed...  boy, there's a laundry list.  A lot of majorly involved avatars have hit the in-active list, a bunch of young upstarts have stepped in.  Tybs left for the past, and seems to  have shaken up the pattern some.  Helvetia seems intent on reimaging itself, not as treeniks, but as adjudicators. Lightfoot finally dissolved under the weight of their own legend -- it's hard to keep up the sheer terror they invoked when the hitsquad was active, and at some point it became comical - they'd roll in, people would refuse to cower, they'd fuss about how badass they were, and take off."  The woman shrugs eloquently.  "Balances of power shift.  With deTrue gone, Lightfoot momentarily rendered limp and lax, Tybalt and Chicken all past-i-fied, Chaos mostly calmed, Lilith and Caine totally a disappointment and Cassie inconsistently crazy, I find myself wishing for just one good villian.  Other than, you know, me.  I'm not really a villian, but people keep casting me there, so hey." She drains her teacup.

::A portal about the size of a head opens nearby the picnic/tea party. A Zod shaped head pokes out.::

"Did someone make a call for villain?"

::If no one responds he pops back out as fast as he popped in. But if someone responds he sticks around::

Green looks disbelieving.  "You?  Come on.  You don't have the stones for the job."  The tone is much more valley-girl and much less High Priestess of the Mystical British Isle of Avalon than she usually manages.  "Seriously.  Villian takes some pretty serious brass ones, and I just haven't seen enough of you to believe you're sporting a pair.  Much less a big enough pair to be a Villian.  I mean, not a nambly-pambly, capricious inconvenience sort of villian.  Oh, no.  I'm talking Jacob deTrue level, creep the innocent girls out of their skin while walking past because you leave a wake of evil level villian.  The sort of villian Vlad is training to be!"  The scoffing ends abruptly as she chomps into her cookie with a continued abnormal ferocity.

“Jacob really wasn’t a bad person, he was just misunderstood.” AElf replies softly “Now Yinsid…..”  a shudder takes over the elf and she curls in on herself in an unconscious defensive action, as a faraway look crosses her eyes.

"That's what I'm saying!"  Green gestures. "Shades of grey. Humanity.  Striking fear into the hearts of melancholy little Aelfs everywhere!"

About 30 feet  directly behind Aelf, a shadowy figure silently gathers itself into four legged being, much larger than man-sized...
