Mini Painting @ SE II
« on: September 08, 2005, 05:05:21 PM »

Hi All,

I am looking for feed back on having an area dedicated to Painting in the Wargaming Room at Southern Exposure II.
We always see people sitting here and there in the Wargaming Room at DE conventions painting away. I am interested in dedicating an area to painting. This would include scheduled Paining lessons for beginners and advanced people, speed painting competitions and possibly terrain building lessons/ seminars.
This would ad a new dimension to the wargaming room

Will you be supplying whips and chains?

Hay,

This is all based on a request from our resident artist Lissanne Lake. She is putting together a staff to man the tables and I have cleaned, built, & primed  100 Minies supplied by Geoff. Lissanne should be submitting a schedule to you shortly.

And, Yes if need be I do have I have all the necessary equipment, you know the games I like to play

  Hmmm...

I think a dedicated painting area is a splendid idea.... and would get more than a few persons involved.

If it can be done, I say go for it.

Some extra info:

If you wish to bring your own figs to paint, please do so. If I remember correctly the painting techniques that Lissanne will be using, work best with figs that are primed BLACK.

See everyone in 1 week.

What do we need in order to make this happen?  Has Lissanne been contacted about this?

The painting table was suggested by Lissanne.
the beginner and advanced lessons are in the schedule for Sat below are the write ups from the complete schedule. DE is supplying everything needed. If people have their own paints rigs or brushes they are welcome to bring them.
Actually it should be recommended that people who are only interested in the advanced lessons bring their own brushes.

Why are these things always so late?  And what will happen with the table other than during these two slots?

The painting area will be available through out the entire con.
If Lissanne or anyone else is there and would like to give a painting demonstration they may do so.
Other wise it is available to anyone  who would like to spend some time painting.
This is not intended to take up an enormous amount of space.
