The EG staff is now officially recruiting new members!
We need competent, personable, outgoing, and enthusiastic gamers to join our staff to help run events at DEXCON 11. This will also be a trial run to determine if we would like to offer you a permanent position on our team! During the event you'll be working along side on of our Senior Staff team members(Ted, Mal, Adam, and myself), providing them the extra hands, ears, and watchful eyes they need to continue our mission to be the best on site event team DE has to offer.
Currently we're recruiting for both the console gaming team, and the LAN gaming teams. The requirements for both are as follows:
-At least 17 years old
-General knowledge of computers and/or console game system operations.
-Physical strength to lift and move computer hardware.
-Willingness to accept a duty schedule of no less than 24 actual work hours over the duration of an event.
-A generally positive attitude, and the capability to work with, and as part of, a tight knit team.
-An email address for off site contact, and a cell phone for on site contact.
The following are definite pluses:
-Above average knowledge of the electronic gaming industry.
-Computer and networking support experience.
-Tournament organization and management experience.
-A Willingness to work the room, even when not scheduled.
-Previous, positive, DE convention volunteering experience.
-Staying in a room on site at the convention hotel itself, or the ability to be on site during all setup/breakdown and operational hours of the EG track (Wed 6PM-2AM, Thu-Sat 10AM-2AM, Sun 11AM-6PM)

Additionally for current DE Volunteers: If you are currently expected to be tapped by another department of the convention staff, you MUST get your current department director's explicit approval to work with EG instead of their department before we can consider your application. EG does not wish to be draining another department's valuable resources, and we will not accept anyone who attempts to outright defect from another department. EG values loyalty to a team, and to commitments. 'Nuff said.
