This was years ago, early 90's to be exact. There were some rooms would be know for being 'wet' (alcohol allowed). And others would be 'dry' (non alcohol allowed). I have no clue what this con is like. This is my first time going also. But great to know ahead of time.

The rule I've always gone by is that if the Hotel staff doesn't catch ya your fine once they do you have no help from anyone i know there are certain orginizations that throw IC and OOC parties with the nectar of Godot involved. I can't say if they will this con or not it aint my place i can say that the hotel has a bar and you can get smashed there and its open till midnight that much i can say. A certain short irishman may or may not be able to help you in this quest as well depending on his location.

There aren't any public parties with alcohol (the only two public parties, in fact, are Sugarfest and the Chocolate Fondue).  However, there are usually a few private parties in rooms around the con, if you can find them - for example, the Knight Realms crew does a rather large IN CHARACTER party hosted by Mike Smith.  And yes, there is also a bar in the hotel.

We only ask that if you ARE going to drink, to please do so in moderation.  The usual stuff applies - respect both the other guests at the hotel, and the fact that someone has to clean up after you.  Note that all parties with alcohol MUST check ID at the door.

Hope that helps!

Convention Staff does not enforce that rule. People serving the alcohol are 100 percent responsible for who gets served. So, when the cops come, they will also be 100 percent responsible for who got served. They are the ones that enforce that rule. However, anybody seeing a minor being served is, under NJ law, an accomplice in that illegal activity. So if Staff sees a minor with alcohol, it will get reported.

Regardless of who is enforcing it, it doesn't mean they aren't required to do it.

Salutations all,
I am guessing this was posted just before last summer's Dexcon, but now with the New Year, I am sure everyone has Resolved not to drink Booze inn 2009. NOT! but while having a beer whilst trying to bring down that cult of Haustur worshippers might be tasty, it would just be bad Manners. Not to mention, you might spill it on your Character sheet.
I remember the LARP's I was in,V:TM , and usually if you ended up in a Players room, even in Character, you where offered a drink, if they had it, and they usually did. this is where I developed my affinity for Icy cold vodka. But with very few exceptions, all the drunk and disorderlies seemed to be the other guests of the Hotel, especially if there was a wedding reception.
I personally think it is all about common sense, but if the starter of this post is at Dreamation 2009, he should find me, and I will give him a sip of proof, That the Highlands of Scotland make the best single malt. Cheers
