Very specific.  We can fix that.  Simply go to your nearest hospital and tell them you need a new face.

I can actualy see what Shamus is saying, it is a bit bright, and while I do like it, it does hurt the eyes when you first load the site.

True question:

Is brightness (or more specifically, color theme) individually configurable?

Agreed, the member info bar just below the DE logo seems way too bright

I love the new layout.  I read the site in daylight, so brightness isn't an issue for me ;-P

On a side note: the layout while browsing on a mobile device is nice and clean, but is essentially read only since I haven't found a way to log in or anything.

Not having TOO much issue with the brightness on top, and contrast in most other areas appears MUCH improved.  Single exception is/are the tabs at the bottom, which I'm finding a tad difficult to read.  Not impossible, but the contrast is faint compared to everywhere else on the page, so it's a bit difficult.

Will check out chat room later, once I'm caught up on other stuff.

Question: some topics are showing up as light blue, and have a boxed X indicating there's a picture I'm not seeing.  Nothing I've tried is making the graphic appear.  What is it, and what are the light blue threads?

(Note: I get the same thing on my own posts, but not other people's.)

Okay, so I'm up too late, but I'm still aware of little things like....

The system's time stamp is on Standard time. That is, at 2:45, my messages are time-stamping as 1:45. Is this a Mac bug?

I notice all the browser tabs (at least in Mozilla/Seamonkey and Firefox) are tagged with a little apple icon. IE insists on the explorer e-with-electron.

I found the contrast between the "Hello User" bar and everything else a little jarring as well.  That's why I was asking for clarification, because I was pretty certain I knew what he meant, but didn't want to go fixing things if I didn't know what was "broken".

The new User Info bar at the top is not just a major color contrast, it's also in a totally different style than the rest of the forum theme. It really looks like it was a plugin coded by someone else and dropped into the forum of someone who didn't know how to change the graphical theme. Personally, I like the graphical design of the User Info bar better than the scheme of the rest of the forum, but I'll live with either without complaint - just so long as they *match* ;-)

....still hurts my face lol. Ok what i mean by this most people have already commented on. The layout is very brite yes for some thats good but the colors just mess with my eyes (Im color difficent so some of the colors blend together on me makeing it hard to point and click certain things) So the solution would be can we change the color theme per user? Just a question if it can't be done because of network space capacity due to  larger user profiles that would be understandable.
