Folks,

I have been hard at work programming two new IRC commands for use in the Forum Chat! These commands will allow general role playing as well as Avatar System role playing to take place in either public or private rooms.

First, the easy one: The /roll command will roll dice with the following formula:

/roll [[n]D]s[Xm|+a|-d|/q]*

Yeah, I know that looks complicated, but play with it and you'll see it's pretty easy. For example, /roll 3d6+4 - pretty self-explanatory Smiley

The dice command is verifiable, public and CANNOT be faked, so it allows for true dice rolling for any game system.

Now the real coup: Our forum is the ONLY place in the world where the Avatar System card mechanics are fully operational, and available immediately!

The basic /pull command is as follows:

/pull n [ s ][+x][-yyy...]

I know that seems ridiculous simple, but it works for every Avatar situation, as follows:

/pull 3 - this pulls 3 cards from a standard deck of cards A-10.
/pull 3+5 - this pulls 3 cards from a deck of cards A-10 plus 5 additional tens.
/pull 3s+3 - this pulls 3 cards from a deck of cards A-10 plus 3 additional tens, but suppresses the re-pull on a drawn ten.
/pull 1+5-369t - this pulls 1 card from a deck of cards A-10 plus 5 additional tens, but eliminates the 3, the 6, the 9 and one of the tens (this allows for the Avatar to continue drawing cards while in combat until the end of the round refreshes his deck).

etc...

The /pull command is verifiable, public and cannot be faked; so anyone else in the room can see exactly what the puller is doing, and point out a mistake if necessary. tens force a re-pull unless the 's' modifier is used, and Aces will produce a 0 total and/or an Ace-Out.

I think this moves us into a new realm of possible role playing, and I'm looking forward to seeing all of our role players take advantage of the new tools Smiley

Questions, feedback and other conversation should stay in this thread.
