I'm a huge
Twitter fan. It can be a big help for cons like this.
For those who don't know, Twitter is a free service that lets you write messages up to 140 characters. Anyone can read them, but people can sign up to "follow" you, and they can pick up your feed in a special program, or even have your messages delivered to their phone. Or vice versa.
I've used it at another con (BGG.CON, a big boardgame con in Dallas), and it's a really nice way to connect with people, especially for pick-up games and meal breaks.
You can "tweet" stuff like...
* Anyone want to play a quick game of German Cube Grider? #dreamation
* We're assembling an away team to Fuddrucker's. Meet us in the lobby at 5:30 pm. #dreamation
* Has anyone seen my special pink d10 around? #dreamation
* Is there anyone here who knows the close combat rules to You Five Met At A Tavern One Night? #dreamation
The #dreamation tag indicates that the tweet is specific to Dreamation. People can search for all #dreamation-related tags, and some third-party utilities can forward tweets with specific tags to your e-mail address. (I don't know if Twitter supports feeds or subscriptions to tags yet.)
