Mike: I'm very glad that you enjoyed the games, and did well.
Praises like that keep us coming back to do more.
All: Yes, last Pyramid we had a head-to-head category of
"words you might hear at Dreammation", and this time we had a winner's circle category of
"Things Vinny might say".... No doubt something from the con or its like will find its way into the next game, too.
Still, the biggest laughs were gotten from the head-to-head categories for which the clues were:
"The Best Days of our Lives"... and ...
"Do They Know About Shrinkage?" The actual categories being:
"Reasons Why High School Sucked", and
"Things Associated with Psychiatry or Psychology".
As fate had it, two Jewish players, teamed up together at the time, were able to decipher
"They Chew Haroses, don't They?" as being about
Passover, found out that it was the
Super7 bonus, and knocked in out of the park, completing all 7 items
with 5 seconds to spare! They got to go to their own
$DD25 Winner's Circle as an extra bonus.
A very big thanks to:
Vinny for thinking to ask me more than once whether and if I needed anything from him/them. Then, when I responded no, simply anticipated me, and provided a projector for the Pyramid game, in lieu of the small monitor I was going to use. He also helped find and deliver the right cable to make it work... that large display made a large difference, too;
Barbara and Tiny (and, I suppose, all the rest of support staff hovering around registration), for ensuring I had a bell, and reassuring me the whole time that it would be accessible to me. The bell said "Tiny" on it, so I guess I was hamerring him on the head the whole time;
The Aschers (both players in the games) for playing and making the games stronger, but even more for remembering to bring their Taboo Buzzer forme;
that very attractive young lady, a player in the game, but whose name my premature Alzheimer's will not allow me to recall, who, when Pyramid was (shockingly to me, at least) a bit undersubscribed at game time, simply waltzed out into the common area and nigh-instantly summoned the needed number of friends to fill out the game -- one of which (Katie) ended up going on with Mike C into the finals. There are advantages to being being an attractive young lady...

or is it merely good to have friends?

Perhaps both;
Phil Gellas, for having run the surveys and supplying the content for Feud;
and
the entire audience, who gave us a tolerant pass when, at first, when we forgot to choose an active team before revealing an answer in Feud, were treated to an ungraceful and initially baffling, though temporary, UI crash. Comments like "that just makes it more like Live TV" certainly made my day feel more comfortable. Still, those minor quirks will be ironed out prior to the next time we put on our shows.
Feedback from these shows, both positive and negative, if constructive, are highly sought after, particularly if I can use it to improve things for next time. (I figured out I should have mic'd the bell and buzzer immediately aftre the last category was over).
Brendan should be back for Dreammation. Right now we anticipate Pyramid returning. We also anticipate either reprising The Weakest Link or introducing a brand new game show for 10 players that Brendan is developing based on timing, general knowledge questions, and seat-of-the-pants positioning, tentatively titled "Nerve".
