Greetings All!
My apologies for the delay. There was one crucial item Buddha and I were looking for to put on the schedule. Alas, it is evading us, but should it become available over the next few days we will be sure to make an on-site adjustment. Either way, be sure to grab one of our printed schedules at the room.
I am very excited about a number of titles this year. "Sword of the Stranger", the "Rebuild of Evangelion" and "Ga-Rei Zero" top the list. But Buddha really knocked one out of the park by finding the classic Nelvana animated shorts done for television back in the late 1970's and early 80's (stuff I grew up with!) before they produced "Rock & Rule". For that matter, if you have any fondness for "Rock & Rule" you should be sure to watch "The Devil and Daniel Mouse" as it was the primary inspiration for the other.
Also, we are welcoming back the Cherry Hill Experiment to share their unique form of cinematic torture enjoyment and will be sharing the room with them from the evening into the late-night hours.
Till then, be seeing you...

DEXCON 12 (2009)
WEDNESDAY
9PM "Sword Of The Stranger": During Japan's medieval Sengoku (civil war) period power came and went at the edge of the sword. Under cover of this era of unrest a group of warriors in the service of the Ming Emperor are hatching a plot. All they need to bring their nefarious plan to fruition is Kotaro, a young orphan on the run. The only thing keeping him from their clutches is his faithful dog, Tobimaru, and a nameless ronin who has vowed to never unsheathe his blade.
11PM "Soul Eater": Technical school can be a bit of a drag. But what if you're a weapons technician at the Shinigami Academy? All you need to do is collect the souls of ninety-nine evil victims and one witch to make your living weapon into the fabled "Death Scythe". In this twisted world you gotta work hard to make the grade, especially when the God of Death is breathing down your neck.

THURSDAY
12PM Nelvana@Noon "Rock & Rule": In the post-apocalyptic future, mankind has been replaced by a new breed of humanity evolving from the dogs, cats and rats that survived. In this new civilization Mok, The Magic Man, reigns as the most powerful and influential rock star the world has ever seen. But as his stardom is fading he has embarks on a quest to unleash a mighty demon upon the world. All he needs to complete his dark purpose is one very special voice.
2PM "Catnapped (Suddenly Catworld)": In the world of Banipal Witt, cats rule...literally! But the cursed Princess Buburina wants to reign supreme with the help of Papadoll, a dog-turned-monster stolen from the Human World. A trio of engineers are on a mission to stop Buburina's mad plan with a secret weapon of their own...the children who owned Papadoll in the Human World.
4PM "Burst Angel": Society is overrun with crime and chaos. A sinister conspiracy is threatening to take over under cover of the confusion. The only thing standing between the world and the dark fate intended for it is Jo, Meg, Sei and Amy...four girls with the drive and skill to take on any menace.
6PM "Tetsuwan Birdy Decode": Everyone knows it's not easy being a modern-day Japanese high-schooler, but Tsutomu Senkawa probably has it tougher than most. Not everyone has to deal with getting mortally wounded in the crossfire between a female alien cop and her quarry. But not all is lost! All he has to put up with is having his spirit merged with Birdy, an impulsive Altairian member of the Federation Police, while his body is being slowly repaired. How hard can it be to live with a time-share body while juggling school with interplanetary crimebusting?

FRIDAY
12PM Nelvana@Noon "A Cosmic Christmas" & "Intergalactic Thanksgiving (or, Please Don't Eat The Planet)": A pair of 1970's animated shorts produced by Nelvana for American television.
2PM "The Girl Who Leapt Through Space": Ten-thousand years in the future life hasn't changed much. Beyond the interplanetary colonies, flying cars and artificially intelligent robots life goes on pretty much as expected. That is, unless you're Akiha Shishido, a runaway student who has somehow gotten involved with an ancient, deserted space-colony bouncing around hyperspace. This lunacy is courtesy of Leopard, the colony A.I., who doesn't seem to have all his nuts-and-bolts screwed down tight enough.
4PM "Heroic Age": A sci-fi re-envisioning of the voyage of the Argonaut and the Twelve Labors of Hercules. Set in a distant future, the spacefaring Dianeira and the crew of the Argonaut are on a quest to find the savior who can protect the Iron Tribe (aka the Human Race) from it's rival tribes and lead them to salvation. After searching far and wide through the cosmos the Iron Tribe may have found him upon the ruined planet, Oron. He is Age, and although he appears a harmless, hapless boy, he harbors a power the likes of which few have ever witnessed and lived to tell the tale.
6PM "Ga-Rei Zero": Picture, if you will, a world where supernatural creatures, evil spirits and demonic possession and are a serious enough threat that the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Defense have created rival organizations to combat these threats while preserving the secrecy of their existence. Not an easy gig, especially if it means maintaing your cover as an ordinary schoolgirl. But when you're a member of a clan of exorcists with a legacy spanning centuries, duty calls!

1PM "Chocolate (Live-Action)": From the producers of "Ong-Bak: Thai Warrior". Zin had it all...beauty, a profitable money-lending operation and the romantic attention of the pillars of underworld's rich and dangerous. Life was pretty good until a jealous ex-boyfriend gangster casts her out onto the streets, poor and pregnant with an autistic child. Despite her handicap, her daughter shows a talent for photographic reflexes. This may not seem all that remarkable, especially when gangsters come a-calling with malicious intent. What they don't know is this teenager has spent countless hours watching martial-arts flicks and the students of the Muay Thai academy next door. But don't worry, they soon will!
3PM Dead Dog Anime For those who have the Constitution Stats to see it through to the very end! Potluck, random and noholdsbarred! If you want to see it and we have it, SO SHALL IT BE!!
