Hey guys!,
Memorial Day is practically on top of us and what does that mean? The (We've stopped counting) annual Double Exposure BBQ of course! I can hear the cheers now.
The BBQ takes place Sunday, May 30, 2010 at our house in White Plains. There will be plenty of food* (Vinnyburgers™! Avieveggiesalad™!) drinks and of course oodles of gaming, movies and other activities!
Since we have a limited amount of space, we ask that you PLEASE RSVP so we can plan properly. We'll then make sure everyone directions to the house and parking instructions.
Speaking of space, ANYONE who may need crash space NEEDS to talk to ME ASAP. Again, we have limited space at the house (and overflow at Villa) so if you need to crash, speak up now by emailing me (
avonelle@dexposure.com) and we'll see what we can do. There are also some local hotels that are easy walking distance from the house.
Also, Central has cats. While Sissy (the black one) is terrified of people, Ashton and Meghan might make an attempt to explore the place beyond the back door. Just keep an eye out for them. You may also find them sniffing at your food plate. Unlike years past, where we could leave unattended food in the kitchen, and it would get thoroughly sniffed, but left unmolested, the twins are vicious omnivores, and will eat anything you leave in their reach. Please be aware of this and don't leave unguarded plates. (Really. Meghan hauled off and chomped on half a red pepper last week. a PEPPER.)
In a departure from years past, do have an answer for "what can I bring?". Then answer is: Drinkables. Over the years, after some intense introspection, I've come to realize that I _LOATHE_ hauling beer and soda for these things. So, we are encouraging folks to bring a case of drinkables to share. We're also going entirely BYOB - I've still got Sam Adams sitting in the house from last year, and I probably threw out a case worth of past-its-prime beer at the end of the season last year. I suck at predicting what folks will drink, and I don't enjoy shopping for it. (Sam Adams? really? The first year I bought Sam Adams, it got sucked down in the first two hours and somebody did a second beer run!)
Other than that, please do not bring foodstuffs. Seriously, we take a GREAT deal of pride in making all of the burgers, salads and other munchies. Anything that someone might bring would end up getting lost which isn't fair to you or your food! (Plus, no offense to you, but if I'm going to have guests come down with food poisoning, I'd like to know that it was my fault.)
You MUST RSVP if you intend to attend. Send email to
avonelle@dexposure.com.
If you have any other questions about the BBQ, just drop one of us email or post here.
* Don't worry all you vegetarians out there; we'll have non-flesh for you eat.
