[Bazaar] A Not-So-Handy Landing

"Well Ah'll be," Jasper breathes, watching the golden form fly overhead.  "I could just get used to this place after all.  Oh, uh, no thanks about the Godot thing."

*Shamus squints towards the direction of Stran.*  "No he's flying way to fast he's on a self mission, Morgan wouldn't be able to catch up."

Crafty reaches a paw toward his fur, and seemingly from behind a sparkling blue-white star produces a largish¹ bottle² of "Badger Brewery³: Original⁴ Triple Bock⁵" which he holds up to the small Lightfoot.
~open this and he will come back of course it might bring other Godot too but that is okay~


¹ Approximately 3 pints, which is largish for a small critter like Crafty...
² The bottle itself is dark brown glass, with a ceramic and wax stopper, fastened with a wire release. It features artwork painted or silkscreened directly on the glass, showing a female badger in a green dress with a sword belt around her low waist. She is holding a keg on one shoulder, while peering seductively over the other. Or, maybe she is looking for targets. It's hard to tell with some badgers...

Fox being a passerby notices the group and wonders over to see what is going on.

"Well it sounds like you already made your decision so will it and be done with it."  *Shamus looks over at crafty with a quick shake of his hand gesturing as a no thank you* "Keep it you may need it if the chaoswolf comes and you need godot backup.  Stran can make alot of fire to cook a giant chocolate cookie to ward em off."

Crafty chirps excitedly, sounding almost desperate.

"Yeah you are right and besides they cant hurt each other jasper still isn't here yet." *Shamus walks over takes the bottle from crafty and pops it open*

"Ah'm not so stupid that Ah can't figure out not to kill somethin' when someone tells me it's good," Jasper says, a dark look coming over his face.

[Dr. Ashleigh Connors]

About this point a motorcycle roars over the conversation, up the boulevard, and stops short of the assembly.  A man in a bomber jacket, pitch black cycle goggles, hops off.  Another tall female figure, similarly dressed hops off from behind him, and walks close behind.  He walks right up to Jasper takes his hand, throws an arm around his shoulder, and cordially says "I'm Doctor Ashleigh Connors, rush chairman, and damn glad to meet ya."  The arm around Jasper applies a gentle pressure to turn him away from this group, and induce him to begin walking away.

The female figure, gracefully inserts herself in between Ashleigh and Jasper, providing a buffer between them and the Lightfoot.  She add in a cold, emotionless, mechanical voice.  "That was Doctor Ashleigh Connors, rush chairman.  And he was damned glad to meet you."

Ashleigh leans and whispers to the wizard, "This would be your one chance to leave gracefully..."

"We're only trying to get him accustomed to this place Ashleigh, not hurt him. But since you feel like you can do a better job i have better things to do then sit around and convince someone who already made up his mind." OOC: Im going to hide in shadows with the bottle.

Zero looks at Ashleigh like a long-lost friend -- and then suddenly frowns.

"DOBA, Doctor Ashleigh Connors.  I hope you are well."

She doesn't, frankly, sound all that sincere.

"Our new associate is merely being overwhelmed with the usual greetings and House data."

She turns to Jasper.  "I am afraid it is always like this.  And they are not really 'hahd selling' Godot -- I do not believe -- although there is a theory that basically, everyone is a Godot, whatever their House.  It is merely an attempt to welcome you.  And as for dragons -- well, again, many are unaccustomed to the variety of beings here.  Those whose approach to such things is visceral rather than intellectual feel the need to issue warnings not to proceed based on old assumptions.  They mean well, but cognitive ability is not their primary strength.  Nonetheless, the advice itself is sound; always verify your assumptions here before acting on them.  Likewise, verify any data you are given.  Perceptions vary widely, and what one Avatar perceives as good, another may not."

And It(pointing at Zero) is right on the money, Jasper.  And they've(waves around at everyone but Zero) all done a masterful job acclimating you to the average, to slightly above average offerings you can expect to find here.  But they're not truly equipped to provide you anything approaching an unbiased opinion.  And if you're really bright, as I sincerely hope you might be, and have studied for more than two seconds, you'll know that no one is.
