All:

Might as well drum up some buzz.  The B-Boys are back again at Double Exposure, with treats both old and new.

We will be re-running our first game, and smash hit
"The Weakest Link" (TWL)

again with a top prize of (wait for it)

$DD1,000

and will be christening our first edition of:
1 vs. the Mob (1vM)

... an homage to 1 vs. 100.  The audience becomes the enemy as one member is chosen to become the player, and tries to answer trivia questions to raise the value of the pot.. which will grow towards a total of $DD100, as the mob thins.  As many rounds will be played as can fit in the time slot, comfortably (or until we run out of Vinny's money, whichever comes first).

There will be:
helps,
trivia,
fun facts, and
the eternal question for the player each round: "Do you want the money?... or the Mob?"

Excellent theater, I think.. and should prove to be about as much fun as you can have with your pants on. Grin

1vM can support up to 30 players, and a big mob means more fun for everyone (although our magic minimum number is only 13)... so tell your friends and everyone else to reserve the special time slots on Fri (tentatively TWL) and Sat (tentatively 1vM) between 6-8 p.m.

Looking forwarding to throwing both our oldest and our newest games, as Brendan channels Anne Robinson the first night... and well... himself on the second one.  Wonder what that looks like?

(Yeah.. a double dose of Brendan behind the microphone...  Wink  at least I get to save my voice for boffer larping)

Aww, c'mon Sinkuu.. you know you wanna be the weakest link!  Besides, I need strong players to give away Vinny's money.  We have been too stingy with it... and, while I don;t expect to actually give away a grand.. it would be nice to come a lot closer. (Last two times we game away about $140 and $90.)

As to which side of the mob or player anyone is on... the player does have the driver's seat.. and .. if you are chosen.... you are chosen.  Selection of the Player will be by random draw from the mob at the time, anyway, using a random number generator, and including only those people in the mob who have not yet been chosen.

... and.. guys..really. shill for me.. I want a BIG mob, so there will be a lot of "come hither" and "one more time" when we ask that question... "Do ya want the money... or the Mob?"  We have setups for up to 31 people available.. Do far we have gotten as many as 19 signups for Pyramid.. and we wanna break that record!

I see the Weakest Link is scheduled for Friday at 6 pm, but 1 vs. the Mob is scheduled for Saturday at 8 pm. I've signed up to run Apples at that time, so it looks like I'll have to miss that one, unless I can work something out with another GM.

As those of you who attended know, TWL went well, and The Weakest Link was determined only after two separate tie-breaks, between Larry Ascher and Brett Pasternak.

.. In Contrast, 1 vs. the Mob didn't just go well.. it went fabulously well.. We started with 21 people ( a mob of 20 and one player), and ended up, through walk-ins (yes, 1vM allows walk-ins between games) with 24.  This was a record (by a wide margin) for any of our shows, and one we are proud of.

Every person in the room was engaged, there was much shouting, much trivia, and much 'Take the Mob!'

We held 5 games, and every one was epic.. this game, after one play, has already and definitely become the flagship of the B-Boy stable of shows.

A special thanks to Steve E. for ginning up a sign and walking around with it.. ("Want real money? Join the Mob!" got a lot of questions, and likely no small number of new players).

A hearty congrats to the show host and my collaborator, Brendan Herlihy, who did a great job on stage.

A huge thanks to the con staff, who were there when we needed them, and ...

...a big round of applause to the players:  you guys are the reason we do this.. and your reaction to the game shows are the reason we keep on doing this.

All things willing, 1 vs. the Mob! will be back (along with one of its companions) for Dreamation.
