Bathroom.  No "roleplay" in Mike's bathroom.  That's the rule.

Is this referring to something that I'm probably happier not knowing about?

My Spidey Sense is not as strong as others on here, and I can not speak for the original post-er, however, just to put my two cents in...

A policy like this is designed to stop something. However, when it is added between one event and another, people do not always READ, they will just do what they have always done and hit, "I have read." I'm guessing this is a conscientious gamer who wants to make sure the people who are making the event go, all know how they can be screwed if they do not verify badges and stand strong on it. I use screwed, not in the "bad" sense, but in the "oh, there are actually concenquences to my actions?" sense. Ignorance is not a reason for not following the law, but law makers, really need to take the extra step when they create a new law, or they will just have a bunch of upset citizens on their hands. Example: "Click it or ticket."

I have a bundle of people helping me with the events and I made sure every one confirmed they heard me explain this and that they are responsible to Dexcon.

The moral of my post is this... a community is made successful when the leaders work hard so everyone can be content, in the case of a business, the leaders need the clients to be happy. Creating rules and expecting people to read them, is not the best way. Creating rules and making sure people understand them is.

This is not a new policy; this is something that has been in effect for a long time.  The original poster was restating a rule already in place, not making a new guideline (despite the title of the post).  Any change in guidelines will be 1) announced, 2) added to the GM rule sheet (which EVERYONE should be reading EVERY con...), and 3) have an extremely good reason for changing.  And most importantly, any change in rules will be announced by Vinny.

Once again, we haven't changed or created any rules, and we have a process for making sure they are known when they change.

Cool. I didn't knwo the first post was wrong about it being new.

My post falls back to past eperience when I have been told my groups I have been in that "people need to read the forums." Frankly, if a group ismn't flexible in how they work with it's members, then it's elitist and not really working hard for it's members. I wasn't suggesting this is how things are here, just pointing out a possible thought process.
