Folks,
Kate, Andy, Cassie, Rob, Amanda and I made a foray into the world of Boffer LARPing this month, and went out to our first Dystopia Rising. We got a chance to roleplay with a bunch of folks we don't know, and a chance to meet new characters of a few we do know. It was pretty darned cool. (And I'm totally not doing shout-outs to avatars who were there, because I'll forget somebody and there'll be hurt feelings and I'll be sad. You know you were there. and everybody we played with was cool. therefore you must be cool.)
We had a blast. Seriously - it was totally worth going out and getting buggy and dirty and bruised! :-)
The game is Avatar Sanctioned, so attending any Dystopia Rising event will gain you Avatar EP, at the rate of 25 points per weekend. If the Dystopia staff comes back to us and says "whoa! so and so came in through you guys, and totally knocked our socks off! did you SEE HIS ARMOR?" or some such, I'll use Avie-discretion to bump that to 200EP for a single weekend.
We will be at the September event, which is the weekend after Mobius Rails. We'd love to see you there.
They're doing a new player drive, which I suggest you go to their forums for information on, because I'd hate to get the details wrong. (reduced cost. EP for a friend. everybody wins.)
