The contralto voice replies, "Searching....Searching....  I am sorry Director Gamin, but the number of possibilities to fulfill your request, has been deemed likely to be beyond your capacity for rational selection.  Recommend you provide more reference points, such as source frame of reference.  Or I can provide the top results of your current search."

"Um... Really? Okay... Please eliminate Palmart or anything that resembles a supermarket or discount store. Is there a soda shop or cafe?"

"There are many, Director.  Listing top results for frozen treat vendors..."

The vidscreen begins displaying the results as the voice reads off:

"1) Fruzen Schnitzel: A wonderland of frozen breaded meaty goodness on a stick.

 2) Millingdale Organic Ice Cream: Founded in 1860, Millingdale Organic Ice Cream attributes it success to a secret family recipe that has been passed from generation to generation.  They boast unique flavors such as "Silver Giant", "Red Pit of Delight", and "Magpie Mayhem"

 3) Ziggy Pig: THE HOME OF THE PIG!!! Behold The Pig, the greatest ice cream spectacle known to the Multiverse.  A rainbow of 100 scoops of frozen flavored delight, 7 different sauces, extra thick vanilla and chocolate whipped cream, jimmies and sprinkles, 3 kinds of nuts, banana slices, and maraschino cherries on top.

 4) The French Confection:  For the more adult in all of us.  The French confection offers a wide selection of rich coffees, and richer desserts.  The house specialty is "Le Bombe": a giant eclair amounting to 1 million calories.  It employs 25 pounds of butter per square inch, and is slathered with a chocolate topping so dark, that not even light itself can escape its surface.

 5) 3.14159265 a 'la Mode: A simple, blue plate pie and ice cream shop.  Desserts designed, and engineered, to titillate your taste buds, served in a simple streamline diner environment."

Echo looks uncertain. "Please eliminate any results that include frozen meat products. One of those last two might work... Are there any malt shoppes or ice cream parlors?"

"Yes Miss.  Please follow the provided glow guide.  Have a nice day."

From beneath the vidscreen a small, about 2 inches in diameter, glowing, cyan orb is dispensed.  It hovers up to Echo's eye level, bounces three short bounces, as if nodding a greeting, and then takes off down the street at a pace that is leisurely, but not unreasonably slow.  The orb leads the youths to a shining silver Streamline model diner structure, decked in pink and green-blue neon trim.

Echo grins. As they walk, she swings the hand holding Jason's just a little. The fear appears to have vanished.

The glowing orb is just the thing to grab a certain otter's attention once more. Sneakily, stealthily, he follows the orb, seeing where it might lead.

Once the orb and the two Avatars following it reach the diner, he pauses. Could there be chocolate chip milkshakes inside? Only one way to find out...

When they arrive at the diner, Jason holds the door for Echo and ushers her inside with a slight bow, "After you, my lady."

The inside, of the 3.14 a 'la Mode, is a relatively small establishment. The decor is simple, with a black and white arcade tile floor, and table festooned in pink and white checkered table cloths.  The only thing that seems a little out of place, is the various blueprints and photographs that serve as artwork.  They all seem to depict various type of bridges, everything from great suspension spans like the Brooklyn, Golden Gate, and Chesapeake Bay bridges, to simple plank bridges built over brooks.

Delightful smells of pastry baking fill the nostrils of the obvious, and stealthy, guests.  Dessert is the name of the game here.  Pies, cakes, belgian waffles, cookies, ice cream, custards abound.  There is a old style soda fountain, with a sweet looking old lady behind the counter.  Both counter service, and 6 booths are available.

Behind the counter, the sweet looking, slightly pear shaped, old lady, looks up and smiles.  She peers over the rim of her thick glasses, and welcomes them brightly, "C'mon in dears.  Sit anywhere ya like!"

Muffinstalker, having somehow snuck past the two other Avatars that seem to be paying far too much attention to each other, clambers up onto a stool at the counter. Both rifles slung over his shoulders, he stands on the stool, front paws on the counter, waiting to order.

When they arrive at the diner, Jason holds the door for Echo and ushers her inside with a slight bow, "After you, my lady."

Echo giggles and makes a half curtsy before walking into the diner. Upon entering she emits a delighted sigh. "Oh it's perfect! Look, Jason, see there?" She points. "That's the Brooklyn Bridge! I grew up around there." She slides into a booth near the image of the familiar bridge and looks up at it longingly for just a moment. The she turns to him a smiles. "I have a good feeling about this place. I wonder if they make egg creams... Have you ever had one?"

Jason looks mildly surprised as he slides in next to Echo, "I didn't know you were from New York. I've been there several times. The Caern in Central Park is quite nice." Jason relaxes in to the booth, "Egg cream? No, I haven't. What is it?"

The counter lady looks at the couple and smiles, and makes a motion towards one of the empty booths.  After that she walks over to the sneaky one at the counter.  "Heello there.  What can I get ya?  No wait, lemme guess!  You look like the type that was made for somethin' with chocolate chips?  Am I right?"
