Folks,

What do you think about a January event? Vinny's concerned that it's too close to the holidays, but I'm thinking a Track 42 style event should be a no-brainer.   Thoughts?

also, here's the most current thinking for 2011 schedule.

January might be ok. I'm not missing Dreamation or Dexcon so they're fine, but I think pretty much everything else conflicts with my schedule almost exactly.

I'm working super hard to avoid conflicting w/ Dystopia or KR, which limits us seriously.  The only guidance they can offer currently is that it's unusually for them to schedule either on the 3rd weekend of the month, but they won't know more until further into the year. :-/

Yeah. I have events and things that are yearly events (trips/vacations) that all fall exactly where your schedule fits.

April: wedding
May: family events, but I might make it a point to go
August: triathlon/shore trip
September: vacation
October: vacation

It happens. I miss the days where my plans never went beyond the coming weekend.

OK, so the way it looks like it's falling out, the late summer/early fall phase of the year is going to be a bit crammed. I'm making the following proposal to alleviate that problem, and while I'm at it, outlining the proposed structure for the year.

What I'm picturing is two events for politicking and determining who has control of the council and therefore who has the biggest say in any changes to the metaphysics of the Nexus.  Those are the two big conventions.  Two Track 42 events - one on either end of the year. Two plotted, higher production value events - Lugosicon and a Spring Gathering Ish event.  Then assorted other things sprinkled in there, so you can get your fix in the off months.

Skipping March to recover from the Holiday Season to DREAMATION period

^^ April - weekend of the 16th  (Spring Gathering Style Event - I've got plans brewing.  Start collecting the caps off snapple bottles, people.  You're gonna need 'em.)

May - Double Exposure Memorial Day BBQ and Open House at our house in White Plains, NY

Skipping June for DEXCON Prep, though we are planning board gaming days at the house that folks will be welcome at. and which will be free, because hey, house.

*July - DEXCON 14 July 6 - 10

~August - weekend of August 20th - I have decided that July/August/September/October is SUPER ambitious.  All things considered, I am considering making this event a One-Shot LARP run at a currently undisclosed location.  I've been itching to run some one-shot stuff, and this is a good time to slide something cheap and one-day into the schedule.
