[Bonehenge] - Collection
« on: October 27, 2010, 07:54:24 PM »

Felegro walks past the borders of the Bazaar, and through Proper, avoiding some kind of scientific rocket ship not far off.  He doesn't have much truck with science, and likes it that way, even though he's had a few discussions with scientists about genetic engineering being some kind of science.  Nonsense, that.

In his limbs he's carrying some very oversized leaves - nearly three feet in diameter.  He keeps walking/slithering, his roots moving smoothly to avoid obstacles.  It's soon apparent that he's heading towards Bonehenge.

During Felegro's trip through Proper, a large figure appears in the sky.  As it approaches, it becomes very apparent that it is a 50ft dragon with iridescent black scales.  The only thing odd about it is that it doesn't seem to flap its wings at all during flight, some invisible force keeping it aloft.

Reaching a safe altitude, the dragon’s descent halts and a humanoid body leaps from its back.   The man lands athletically not far from the mobile tree as the Dragon resumes movement and flies away.  King Trunks rises and approaches Felegro.

“Lord Felegro!” hails Trunks.  “Good to see you!  I don’t think I saw you about during that mess with the Demons not long ago,” He says with a wince at the word.   “Excuse me if I am bothering you but I had to get out of the Castle again to catch a break and as I was enjoying the respite, I noticed you out here.  Thought I’d drop by and see if you would mind some company.”

"Hi Trunks," replies Felegro, pausing to greet him.  "Company is always welcome.  I was just going to do some cleanup work over by Bonehenge.  And actually, I was around for the gathering.  Lost a game to Birdie, in fact.  I just didn't want to interfere with the ritual - better for some people to learn how much they need formal training by trying it at least once."

A screech can be heard over head as an aircraft passes overhead at a very high altitude.

Fel glances up as the shadow passes overhead, squinting against the sun, then turns back to Trunks.

(Sorry for the delay)

Trunks glances skyward at the sound of the aircraft, shrugs and turns back to Fel.  "Alright then, shall we head there now?  I don't mind giving you a hand, i'm not expected back at the castle for some time yet.  Also, i don't think i have ever seen this Bonehenge though i have heard about it."

With that the King motions for Fel to lead the way.

"Sure."  Fel starts walking towards the ritual site, which is just barely in view.  "Hope you don't mind getting your hands a little dirty.  It's a desolate little spot, but that's as it should be."

(Just continuing to move along the scene)

"So, what we're doing here," Felegro explains, "is simply getting the Ghostrock contained.  First step is collecting it, which is what I brought these for," he continues, waving the oversized leaves towards Trunks.  As he does so, they fill and expand a bit, and it can be seen that they're about 4 feet in diameter.  "And I can probably fashion some kind of gloves for you, but if you want, holding the bag would be equally helpful.  After that, I have a place to hide it so no one can get to it."

Eventually, Fel and Trunks arrive at Bonehenge.  Bonehenge is a large, 10 foot tall structure constructed entirely of bone on the outside.  It encloses a bubble of unknown origin, which contains a swirling bubble of ghostrock - solid, gaseous, possibly even liquid.  It's so thick it looks black, but as things approach the edge of the bubble one can see that it's sometimes green and red and yellow and grey.

On the surface of the bubble, covering the outside, is a very thin layer of ghostrock.  It moves around, as if it were iron filings on a piece of paper, with a magnet under it that's moving around.

(Yea, I’ve been busy and not able to reply quickly. Sorry about that)
((OOC question: did we do that ritual to contain the ghost rock in bonehenge?))

Listening to Felegro's explanation of the task at hand, Trunks nods.  "I see what we must do, I'll take the bag.  Don't worry about the gloves though; I’ve been dealing with this stuff long before it showed up here. I have my own precautionary measures."  Trunks says as he reaches into the breast pocket of his jacket.  Pulling out a small chain of bright metal and placing it around his neck.  Once on, it becomes apparent that there is something hanging from the necklace.  A little spade, made of the same material as the rest of the chain.

“Gift from a friend,” Trunks explains.

Upon arriving at Bonehenge, the King takes in the scene, readying the bag as he does.

“So, where shall we begin?...”

(Yeah, the ritual was completed, but because they only killed Stran after the ritual was done, the Ghostrock in Stran is on the outside of the bubble)

Felegro raises what could be an eyebrow.  "Actually, if that charm is anything like what I think it is, maybe I should hold the bag and you should scoop.  Makes sense, though, that Sammy would make em..."

In a streak of continuum-distorted light, the USS Alexandria warps away from her customary 'orbit' over proper and, a moment later, takes up a position over the blasted ritual site.

A quiet "Damnit," emerges from the tree as the shadow arrives overhead.

"...thing on?" Steed's voice echoes a bit as a hologram of him appears near Felegro, facing in the wrong direction. He quickly turns toward the sentient tree, his image flickering a bit. "Oh, good; nothing's blown up yet." He sketches a little wave to Fel. "Holocomm," he explains. "Cribbed the idea from the late 24th century, still getting the bugs out. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I'm here - or, rather, up there," he indicates a vague point in the sky, "keeping an eye. There's bound to be a gaggle along sooner or later to talk you into or out of something. I'm advising one such gaggle over the comm, hopefully towards a productive end to this excess ghostrock question. Otherwise, I'm just here to see that things don't go Stran again. I've got transporter locks painted on everybody here," he inclines his face straight upward, "and I *do* mean *everybody*," he stage-projects, then faces back to Fel.

"Just in case, you know, a quick extraction is called for. Also, Doctor Connors has kindly provided me with his ghostrock suppressor technology; won't clean anything up, but it'll do a treat should anyone get infected - keep them from going all mentally wonky. I've also got a few ideas about mobilizing it for conventional field use, but for now I'm certain I can render at least some assistance should anything go pear-shaped."

(OOC: ...I've been watching too much Stargate SG-1 lately. Totally stole this bit from when O'Neill was hooked up to the computer on Thor's ship.)

Felegro looks at Steed blankly.  "I. . . . what?" asks the tree, astutely.  "This isn't a ritual.  I'm putting the ghostrock in a bag.  And then locking it up.  Even built a . . .well, I have a place for it.  If you idiots decide you want to do a ritual, feel free to ask for help, but I'm just keeping this out of the wrong hands."  The look on his face seems to imply that the wrong hands might include Steed's.
