Rover Rules for Lugosicon 2005
« on: October 15, 2005, 08:37:27 AM »

(Astute Avatars would probably notice that the generation of Resurrecting Rovers has been increasingly undependable, and they'll observe a very sharp drop at this Gathering.  Please note the requirement of 14 or more on a single AC pick means the first card needs to be a 10, entitling you to a second card, as usual.)

----
Rover Rules for Lugosicon 2005:

When an Avatar wearing a Village Bicycle Badge is killed inside the Gathering Space Hotel, the Avatar must make an AC pick. A Resurrecting Rover will only appear on a draw of 10, or only on a total of 14 or more if the number on the button is not legible due to being worn out, defaced, or has been removed.  The Rover will arrive 30 seconds after the death, or after the end of combat, whichever is later.  (Note: this allows for the usual looting opportunity.)  If the draw successful but the Rover is physically delayed from reaching the Avatar for 30 seconds, a second draw is necessary to see if a backup Rover is dispatched, and a failure there means no more will be summoned for that death.

Rovers are 5' wide white rubbery balloons that bounce along in the first minute of someone's death. They come down the hall from a nearby room that has a Rover Dispenser. They have a DR of 50, LIFE of 100 and and IN of 10 (with no AC pick) for the purpose of contested Resurrection.  They are very hard to stop physically. An attack must successfully do 50 points of P (Physical) damage to delay a Rover from its target for 30 seconds, but doing so summons another rover, which will arrive 30 seconds after that summoning. They have a MIND of 0 so mental skills and powers have no effect on them. Delaying a Rover is not considered Avatar Combat and can (indeed must) occur during the 4 minute grace period. If an Avatar completes discorporation for any reason, or is successfully Necromancied, all Rovers that were summoned to it will explode doing a 40 OR attack of EA damage to any who were delaying them via short range attacks. They also explode if destroyed.

If a Rover reaches the Avatar it was summoned for, it automatically succeeds in Resurrecting him. After a Resurrection, all Rovers summoned for that Avatar deflate and disintegrate within 5 seconds.
